Neither, the issue is we're replacing someone who showed little with someone who hasn't shown much more, if we buy other players we can make the equivalence of Mendez-Laing and Ameobi at present he's replacing Johnson, NML, Kebano and Bolasie of those there's only NML who I would say he's an improvement on.

Your enthusiasm and love of the club shines bright Newy but for me in this instance at this time we should be looking at the first team regulars that are going to kick us on not squad players who aren't an upgrade on the majority who have left in the summer.

If I were in charged, I'd really be looking to get more of the promising youth academy players in the team next season.

Of course, that's a lot of pressure on kids, so I'd have a back up plan: experienced players who could step into the firing line, take the pressure off the kids,candy get the job done when it's needed.

I therefore see some possible sense in what is happening.
 
A stopped clock is right twice per day, particularly if trawling multiple other social media and attempting to gain validation. Time for ignore button.

Never looks like a top six Championship player, so assume he‘s a squad filler as if we have aspirations of getting promoted this season we need more quality first choice players.
 
I think he's alright as a free. The odd moment of brilliance followed by inconsistently.

The one good thing is he's champo ready. He can slot straight in and start those step overs😂

That said I would argue Johnson offers as much? He's probably a better crosser and can slot in at wingback. I'm suprised we didn't keep him (although not privy to contact etc).
 
Someone posted this as a possible starting XI the other day on the Holiett / Kadeem Harris thread. I stand by my answer below it. If this is the calibre of player we are signing it is going to be a horrible, low scoring, slog of a season with a worse goal haul than this one, and probably lower mid-table finish.

Kadeem Harris - zero goals four assists. (sub?)

Sammi Ameobi - three goals two assists.
Junior Hoilet - two goals two assists

So fifteen goals between them last season. We scored fifty-five in the league last year, so with the same performances from that starting eleven this season, the new front man needs to notch forty on his own........

New striker = Lewandowski?
