Sammy Ameobi?

There was a rumour on an earlier thread saying he had failed a drugs test and the ‘injury’ was simply hiding his suspension
very unlikely. I would suspect we would have sacked him if that were the case. He was a free transfer and I can only assume we are paying his wages right now, as he is registered with us. If he had failed a drug test we would have cut our losses and released him.

More likely that there is an issue with the medical information supplied to us when he signed, and the injury he went down with a week after signing for us should actually have shown up in the medical information. Therefore there may be some litigation occurring which would explain why the need to know basis around him? This is all just speculation though, I have absolutely no inside knowledge and if I did I wouldn't speculate it on here

BM we have been told several times - and I have reported this on here with a couple of updates from press conferences. There aren't many simply because there is little to update as there was no progress.
It is frustrating for us but must be more so for Warnock and Ameobi - the last time I reported back on this he was doing physio building up the leg around the knee and had a programme to keep generally fit. It was not the same knee he had previously hurt. It is just a waiting game for him.
I think the speculation is around the fact that we haven't been told what the underlying issue is. Why is there water on the knee, what is the cause. In 3 1/2 months you would have thought that the underlying issue would have been identified, early on we were told when the knee settles he will go for a scan, but that was a long time ago and the result of any scan was never communicated.

I don't buy some of the conspiracy around here, but the level of mystery over what his actually issue is, does lead one to believe it's a pretty serious issue. Even if it cleared up tomorrow, he would need a full 6 week pre-season to even get on the bench. Which means January, but he isn't anywhere near training at the moment

He signed right at the beginning of July, it's 3 1/2 months since he last trained. Yet we haven't even been told what the injury is, other than it's knee related. I'd be astounded to see him this season, clearly a very very serious injury
It doesnt bode well at all if, as you say, they cant put their finger on it & say the cause, time out period

We could be pursuing some sort of insurance thing or contractual termination I suppose.

With Jones, Hernandez, Browne (soon hopefully) Tav, Watmore, Olysana and maybe Sivi all able to play there the club may bee thinking they don't need him now.
The truth is we don’t miss him or need him now we have jones and Hernandez, olysana but it’s a sad situation for both him and us because I really rate him
Hey ho on we go….

Downing mentioned during the podcast that when he signed for Villa he was injured and Martin O'Neill basically said I don't want to hear from you for the next 6 months. Just do your work in the gym and get fit.

Maybe it's a similar scenario with Ameobi?

are you the new cleaning person? I heard the last lady retired....
You being just a dog I guess I shouldn't be surprised at your really really stupid reply.
Have you grasped that the players use the same pool as members of the spa and memberships are reasonably priced.
Sadly, no dogs allowed, so let Alan know.

I suppose this little debate is a sign of the times - we expect news and information on a constant drip. If we don't get it then we assume all kinds of reasons for it. 😁 😁
Maybe the lad is just injured, as the club have said. With COVID etc, it makes it more likely that he is being dealt with remotely, perhaps?

A similar thing happened with Guedioura.

He was injured at some point in the summer after our relegation and even went off to Qatar for treatment without it ever being mentioned by the club, he was missing for over 6 months and then mysteriously reappeared when Pulis took over, made 1 appearance before his contract was ripped up in January.

With his injury record you’d think the medical would of been a bit more thorough. More money wasted.
