Saville

Agree with all the comments re Saville but for me today, the main culprit was Spence. He has pace fair enough but I lost count the number of times he lost possession in dangerous areas trying to be too clever. Keep it simple young man!!
 
The main problem to me is that Saville, Morsy and Howson are all workhorse centre mids.

They're different in what they offer but they just don't have the attacking thrust you need. 3 players 2 positions. If we're being honest Tav isn't the answer either.

Tav would be great attacking if he had a Ramirez with him to really bring out his best skills. He's never been replaced and we've not been free flowing since he left (not that I'm saying we should look to bring him back now, just someone like him).
 
I thought he had a decent game, not his best, but solid enough.

He had obviously been told to get up the pitch as much as he could because he was the most advances of the midfield three over the 90 mins and he also put in a good shift defensively too.

Morsay is the weak one of the three, he breaks up play decent enough, but just lacks any real quality.

Read my earlier post. They had two players on Spence most of time today.
 
He’s probably another one wel let go on a free , we need goals from the likes of him aswell especially on the investment we put in him .
 
Maybe we focus too much on the negatives as fans , even when we’ve win games a lot of us highlight our inadequacies more than the fact we’d won 3 Pts .
Good point today and two lads on the pitch making their debut. We’ve got a lot to look forward to over the coming months and maybe another player coming in . That would be 4 new signings in January ontop of having a fit 15 goal striker coming back in fletch . UTB 👍😎
 
In the final third it’s only really Howson who looks like making things happen / the rest of them are so predictable and end up being forced backwards.

We have no one in the middle who is a consistent threat to the opposition. This then reduces the threat from the wings and the strikers.

When we score it sometimes feels like it's a fluke. 😂
 
Thought he was ok.. but after about 60 minutes the camera panned to him leaned over blowing out his.. Should've took him off for Wingy when the red card came.
 
We don’t have much creativity and rely heavily on winning possession back high up the field. Saville is our best midfielder at this but is clearly in need of a rest. He’s played a lot of games/minutes this season

On the other hand. Thought howson was poetry in motion. The way he controls the ball and moves it 👌
