Steve Gibson's fmttm Q and A - Thursday

I'm tempted to ask why we don't categorise the junior pricing, rather than having one category for juniors (U18's).
Would be great if you could parmoboy as we're one of the only clubs that does that and it would be nice to know the reason why.

How can this be a closed shop event?
By the way it is almost sold out.

Because I suspect there’ll be hand picked questions that he’s comfortable to answer, and even if that isn’t the case, it seems like those of us that don’t live in Middlesbrough will not be privy to what his actual answers are anyway. Seeing as it’s not being recorded.

I haven't had to sign an NDA and I don't expect I'll be asked to sign one when I go in. I'm pretty sure that SG is not going to be selecting what questions he's asked.

I'm sure he isn't either

But I'm also pretty sure someone will
We have 90 minutes for the actual Q and A of the event and hopefully we can cover as much territory as possible over that time.
A chance to find out future plans and ambitions perhaps etc etc.
I can tell you that neither Steve Gibson nor anyone else from the club have put any restrictions on this evening. We have been allowed to appoint our own person to chair the evening. We sought advice from Red Faction and MFC regarding how to ticket the night and also what formats might work best. The football club have been quick to offer a room, food and a free drink for everyone.
I fixed the price. And worked with the football club to select a charity. The club invited MFC Foundation to take part and they wanted to come along and host a raffle themselves. The club will staff the evening free of charge.
Looking forward to a good night - if it goes well I am sure we could arrange follow ups opportunities.

Great that it’s happening and well done for organising Rob (y) Shame it’s not streaming, I’d happily kick in a fiver to watch.
I don’t want it live streaming, we all know how these things work, you’re much more likely to get the transparency you’re after if it’s not and I’m sure there’ll be transcripts we can read or we’ll hear about.
I don’t quite understand what you mean by we all know how these things work? Unless you mean he’ll be less guarded if it’s not being recorded? For me, I think it’s more engaging to hear what he actually says, rather than other people’s interpretations of or what they vaguely remember he said. If I was the presenter I’d rather have my actual words out there too rather than leaving it up to others to interpret. God, we’ve all argued for a decade about “Smash the league” and that was literally broadcast live on BBC radio.

The only good thing about the media revolution with social media and every phone having high quality recording capabilities is that people can easily communicate directly with their ‘fans’ and cut out the middleman of the media. It’s easy to be accessible.

Like another poster said, it’s 2024. Voice memos / Record exists, it’s going to be recorded and transcribed anyway, might as well do it as part of the package? Maybe next time. Will still be a great event and I look forward to reading the transcripts.

Great work Rob.
