Sunderland Away Ticket Info

It surprises me that people are more willing to argue about the points system than the fact that corporates get their hands on tickets in effect 'under the counter' before they are even available to those with points.
They both need looking into.

I was against the points system from the start as I looked at all the issues other clubs were having with their own systems and didn’t trust the club to administer it properly.

It’s incredible the amount of people I know who you could count the number of away games they’ve been to since last August on one hand, and many of them still have 200+ points.

Because those who can afford to buy tickets and just don’t go to get the points (in some cases purchase child tickets to reduce the hit), buy tickets with no intention other than to bank the points and sell them on, buy tickets for their mates who otherwise wouldn’t get tickets due to the points, or just allow others to purchase tickets on their account. Some with gold cards aren’t the original holders, they have a huge advantage over other season card holders who can never obtain that status.

Don’t get me wrong, we’ve all helped mates in the past or let someone go on our ticket when we’ve been on holiday, working away, etc. What I’m referring to is playing the system in some cases on an industrial scale.

These were all things that happened at other clubs, all could be foreseen and MFC have done absolutely nothing about it.

Personally I wouldn’t like to see us take the Brighton approach, that’s too draconian for me. I’d rather simplify and streamline the system to take away the incentive for people to do this.

You’ve got all those issues plus hospitality can buy tickets under the counter and there’s an away season ticket that isn’t advertised and you can’t buy unless you get a nod and a wink from the club.

The whole thing needs looking at again, it’s not had too many issues so far as we simply haven’t had the fixtures or demand to put it under pressure, but if we get a play-off semi final or are lucky enough to get in the Premier League I can see a lot of animosity building at how the system is ran and a lot of that is the lack of transparency.

You get to keep them in your basket for 30 minutes maximum before they are then released again.

So I wouldn't be shocked if a good few tickets start being released again.

Printing names on tickets to carry out ID checks, sample are selected at random won’t receive their tickets before but have to collect theirs at the away stadium ticket office.

10 game ban and 50 point deduction for the account holder if the ticket isn’t your’s.
Blimey

Oh dear.......

A few people I know have chanced trying to purchase tickets and managed to buy them and they don't have enough priority points 🙈

System just let them do it. They've had a confirmation email and the points have been added to their account.

Well done Boro.

i was tempted to do the same thing as it let me do that last season for a game ( not intentionally I just got the times of release wrong)

*EDIT just tried it and it wont let me (which I'm kinda glad about really as id have felt rather guilty)

Although I don't support the system they're not going to introduce schemes that make it more difficult to maximise ticket sales.

How would they do that exactly on away tickets?

Sounds like a simple solution but in practice not so much.

Still 2 blocks yet to open too, so it should reach 200 points at least.

Though I suppose it's only been 2 hours or so.

Are we sure the end blocks will be available as part of the 1955 allocation?
It would only mean 280 per block which seems a bit low.
Wouldn’t take notice of the online system it’s very poor. You won’t get any communication from the club either. Very poor department and after all the problems last year with cards no communication. Still haven’t responded to my email nearly a year ago.
Quite happy to bury their head sim the sand and ignore everyone.
Lot of issues on Saturday with duplicate sales of season ticket seats and not loading cards. Our card would t work and when we got in they had sold out seats even though we had paid for them. I appreciate that someone else manages teh sales but MFC are the client and are aware of problems.
