We are within the 18/25 biggest clubs in the country we are upper end medium sized low end big. We are not the small town club people like to make out it will always be the main club for the entire of Teesside which is Middlesbrough Stockton Redcar/Cleveland and Billingham that’s a catchment area of 500,000 for one club. I find the small town club narrative people play us for a little bit undermining as if you look at our traditional support we are relatively large club with a sizeable area to pick from. Up until 2006/2007 our premier league averages were great. 35,000 is a large stadium and other clubs our size Southampton, Norwich etc wouldn’t fill that many on a regular basis, the crowds from 2009/2014 were really poor and was a low point for the club but I don’t see us ever going back to that even under woodgate we still averages around 20,000, but yea your right boro should do more to appeal to further south and not just sit on the little old boro throne cause it’s not true and never will be
