Sunderland Season Ticket Sales

They are like. More than £300 cheaper than it would be for me to go with my son in similar seats.

I'm in two minds whether to get STs next season. I would 100% get one at Sunderlands prices
I would too. I worked it out for myself and my two son's. Sunderland was about half the price. Made my decision for me really. Will just pick and choose my games again.

Their prices are around 30% cheaper some of ours have a free drink which reduces the gap to around 10%.

I'd like the see the total revenue differences - 32k STs sales at Sunderland could be the same as 23k sales at the Boro in total revenue.

I remember an interview with Gibson where he said he can’t understand why fans think there are loads of better pricing models that they haven’t thought of. People can disagree of course but it’s not like all options haven’t been considered.

That’s the point in a nutshell - all options have been considered and it is what it is ….for the fans of a community club, in a tough demographic area in the middle of a cost of living crisis.

Boro aren't as popular a club as Sunderland so to compete Gibson has to charge more.
This doesn't stand up to scrutiny though. There's loads of smaller clubs and teams with similar attendances to ours that charge much less and are still competing financially. They also charge much smaller away ticket prices.

Weren't we the most expensive away tickets in the league? Given our location, it's no wonder teams don't bring many fans

This is my issue on occasions with Gibson and his team, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they have modeled various options and come to the conclusion, nothing makes them more money. However, should it always be about just hard cash, surely there is an argument to try and attract new supporters or occasional supporters to become regular even if it doesn't make the club more money in the short term?

I would like to think we could find a way to lower our under 18 prices to near that Sunderland figure, find a way to make it easier for large family groups and I'm sure I've said on here at some point in the past why not bring in an easyjet / ryanair system/ pricing model for people who can't or don't buy season tickets. That last one must make commercial sense as it would generate early sales and almost certainly lead to additional sales would be cost nuetral at worst if they got the pricing right.

ST holders get discounted tickets, priority for tickets, free drinks etc - and that's only right. Don't begrudge them any of this at all

But the disparity with walk up prices (approx 50% higher) and U18/ kids tickets is pretty crap.
And the club have this attitude that they have exhausted every possible ticket option, and what they offer is value for money ......🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

For those who work shifts, can't afford/ justify a ST it's very disappointing. Must be losing a few quid with "casual" fans only make 1-2 games per season rather than potentially, say, 5-6.

But nothings going to change, so just have to accept is what it is 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Comparing our junior pricing with Sunderlands', it actually works out near enough just as cheap for a parent to take their child to a Boro game if they buy season cards in the GRFZ. It would cost a Sunderland fan £438 to buy a season card with their child, and I believe it would cost a Boro fan £480 to do the same, if they bought tickets seated together in the GRFZ.

The issue is, not every teenager will want to attend games with their parent. At Sunderland, if a group of four teenagers for example wanted to buy season tickets seated together, it would cost them £192 altogether. At Boro, it would cost £748 for four teenagers to do the same thing.

Agree with the shift workers point we are effectively closing ourselves off to this part of our fan base. This is why there is always a clamour for the reinstatement of something like Boro Pride to give people a discount. I know Rob has said in the past there have been discussions about this. However, I still think more could be done, say an up front commitment to attend 6 or 7 home matches a season with some sort of discount built in for doing so.

Isn't there a massive waiting list for the GRFZ? So it's not an option if a boro fan wanted to take their child at an affordable price.

That's right.

The club roll this out as though it's a great option for a parent wanting to take their kid......only it's full. So your cheapest option is to take a kid into the North stand for combined price of £49, and fingers crossed you are not sat next to a p*ssed/coked up chav with what appears to be a bad case of tourettes.

Shame an adult/child deal can't be rolled out to other (more suitable 😁) parts of the ground.

Considered but not tried, why we think our model, that no other club uses is not only the best option but the way to run a so called community club

I didn't realise that to be honest.

A sensible model for the juniors would be as follows in my opinion;

- £187 for an U21

- £60 for an U18

- Keep the GRFZ open and make it £480 for an adult and an U14
