The 9am figures not disclosed yet?

Really coming down nicely now, largely as there's not many left to infect.

This seems like the home straight to me, especially with reinfections being included, lets just hope all the wheels stay on.

I don't think it's going away mind, not with reinfections being circa 10%, but we look to be heading back to something like "normal service" at least.

• 7-day average for new cases decreases by 8.4% to 72,135 per day, following 5.9% decrease yesterday (and 13th decrease in the past 15 days)
• 7-day average for new cases is 20.9% lower than one week ago (from 11.1% lower yesterday) and 22.6% lower than two weeks ago (from 15.5% lower yesterday and 5.3% lower 7 days ago)
• 314 new deaths within 28 days of a positive test reported in 24-hour period, up from 45 yesterday
• 7-day average for new deaths within 28 days of a positive test increases by 5.6% to 257.4 per day, following 0.4% decrease yesterday

Increase in the 7-day average for new deaths is caused by the dropping out of the calculation of last Tuesday's unusually low figure. This was because of administrative reasons, following a change in definition.

Conversely, last Wednesday's figure was unusually high. When that drops out of the calculation tomorrow, expect to see a fall in the 7-day average of roughly the same magnitude.

Worth bearing in mind that Scotland will be counting positive LFT tests in their figures going forward.

I think we've nailed it now, after one hell of a slog that none of us want to have to repeat again.

We're 10% below excess weekly deaths now too from what I recently read, albeit that's probably a lot to do with a lot of the most vulnerable already being killed off.

Omicron a natural vaccine effect.

There is a significant 5th wave going on in hong Kong at the minute but I am not sure if that's being reported in relation to their zero covid policy.
