The end?

I'm not so sure its RR, for all I've had one or two disagreements with Exiled his style is totally different as well as being more intelligent than RR, which is clear in most of the postings.

His postings last night were a bit mad, but we never know what's going on in people's lives.

I will however say this board is not right wing or made up of people enjoying the war. I dare say every person on this board wants this madness and bloodshed to end as quickly as possible.
Maybe not, but it was the sort of response made to get bites. Of all the subjects on this board, this is (to me) the one that affects our every day lives for the worse, whether that be financially, politically, ecologically, potentially even existentially, we need this bloody war to end as quickly as possible, so that some peace can be restored within Europe, Ukraine, Belarus and Russia in particular, so that peoples of those countries and wider afield can begin to feel less threatened, infrastructures rebuilt, economies grown and order restored (if possible, even in Russia). Wars are never good for anyone but the mad, bad and power crazed and lets be honest, they're nearly always men hell bent on a pathway of avarice, wrath, pride, envy etc.

We have an awful lot at stake were this to escalate and spread across a NATO border. We would all be at war and a legitimate target in theory. Our way of life and loved ones would be at risk. It is a fascinating but woeful subject at the same time and although the thread has had its lighter moments on occasion, it has genuinely brought (i think) a certain calm understanding to us ordinary folk that helps deal with our worst fears of war and gives us hope that our contribution through our government, charities and civil army of aid workers is helping to keep the Russian bear from our door. Borolad259 and the other main contributors have provided valuable insight and spread hope that good can yet triumph over evil. To suggest there is a pro war or a right wing narrative or that anyone has an ulterior motive other than information is for the birds.

Putin is a crazed Hitler Mkll with a nuclear arsenal and if allowed to asset strip and ethnically cleanse Ukraine, would go on and on and on until stopped. Pure evil that needs defeating as quickly and as safely as possible. Anyone thinking otherwise is at one end of the scale just thick, or at the worst end of the scale, a Russian sympathiser. Attempts at grenade throwing, on a topic like this, is destructive.

I have never noticed Exiled post anything provocative before. He’s a decent poster I thought.

I also think the vast majority of contributors on this thread have been considered, respectful and definitely anti war.

We are largely a left leaning bunch, too, but even so those posters with alternative views haven’t been enthusing about war. Far from it.

I don’t think he’s followed the thread and may have misread the tone and the room.

Hearing rumours pulled back from staromlynivka albeit from someone who can only see russian side of the conflict, any substance to this?

I did post several months ago that the conflict will drag on for at least 2023 - until both sides negotiate.

This is an unpopular point in view in this country and the board reflects that. The popularist view is don't stop the war until all of the land claimed by Ukraine is in Ukraine hands. If the conflict spreads to Russia I fear it was last even longer. Russia is not Germany in 1944/45 or Germany in the summer of 1918.

The popularist view generally and particularly on this board is that Russia fecks off out of Ukraine either voluntarily (the preferred option) or gets kicked out by force.

If behind the scenes negotiatiations enable the former then good, but who would the Ukrainians negotiate with? The people slinging about "Neo Nazi" with no self awareness, the people throwing the nuclear option out every few weeks, the people writing the scripts for Solovyov, Simonyan and Marden?

Interesting choice of words btw "all of the land claimed by Ukraine", when of course you meant the internationally recognised borders of Ukraine.

So you know our man said he finds bridges offensive? One word...Chongar. As mentioned upthread. But he is banned from nixing Kersh ...politics.

That's interesting. Politics is strange art/science. It would be interesting to hear the thinking behind that. Perhaps it is simply to allow an exit door?

Can't touch anything deigned to be in Russia, which bizarrely is the case with the bridge. But he's fine about it really as the UAF have the means to do it themselves.

As he put it, he had "opinions" about both the rail and road bridges.

sorry don't get the cryptic message did Chongar bridge not get blown up a week or so ago or you referring to the other bridge ?

I saw reports elsewhere that the Chongar bridge was hit multiple times last night. Unlike last time when we saw Russian commentators/vloggers pointing to a single hole in the bridge there has been no such video. The Russians have said they shot down several Storm Shadow missiles.

Yeah, he didn't fire the missiles himself obvs, but he ordered the ruination of both the road and rail bridges. Other people did the actual aiming.

Update

"While everyone concentrated on City of Moscow District (government offices district) getting hit two times, with the same building getting hit twice, something else happened that everyone missed.

I stole this map from the most respected Russian Mil-channer, Rybar, it is oftern fairly accurate for being Russian.
It also is corroborated by other data that I can't show.

I would say that it constitutes as an incredibly bad day if you have to make this map.
So, since ***** pointed out that I have been bad at saying if it is main attacks, advance forces, or probing attacks, I will from now on try to remember to state this if it is appropriate due to OpSec.

Ukraine started to shell Russian positions along the entire border towards Russia in select locations.
The fire was aimed at border patrol officers (no army units present), and the few old air defence systems present, artillery (what little there is), and so on.

Due to the low level of defence Ukraine at the same time started to perform probing attacks, obviously using the Free Russia Movement forces.
The size of the units are between a dozen up to around 150 freedom fighters.

I expect that they will once more "liberate" parts of Russia for a while and cause quite a lot of commotion.
Note the amount of places under attack, it sort of implies that the Free Russia Movement have grown in strength.
It is "rumoured" that many POV mobiks have decided to switch sides after careful screening.

Odesa
I seriously suggest everyone visiting after the war.
It is an almost ridiculously beautiful city, filled with cafés, restaurants, and other creature comforts.
I had coffee in a couple of them yesterday as I was there on business.
I could really ponder living there... and I am a picky b***r.

My workload has gone down quite a bit last week.
By now everything is ticking over on automatic along the lines of the plan.
This meant that I got almost 8 hours of sleep while the artillery pounded away nearby.
It is amasing what amount of racket one can sleep through after a while.

Luhansk Front
The Russian ginormous 100 000 men and 900 tanks offensive that the punditry jacked over last week turned into limited nipplification of the frontline, and the nipples have now been removed with surgical precission.
It is possible that Russia will attempt a few more nipples, but the result will be the same.
Russia no longer possess the ability to advance and control areas.

Southern Front
Ukraine is busy doing stuff that I can't talk about.
That is why I have been quiet.
Expect nice stuff to get public soon.

Bridges
As I have mentioned I find Bridges to be offensive.
Obesity would be much less of a problem without them.
That is why I have taken it upon me to save Russian tourists by letting them swim across the salt swamp lakes between Crimea and Kherson.

I have especially adopted the two Chongar Bridges, both the rail and car bridges.
The Russians are suitably impressed by this public health initiative, and I hope to get a medal for it.
But, since Russians are a lazy people they started to repair the bridges, but due to various reasons they sprouted new holes exactly where there was repair teams.
It unfortunately turned out that the repair teams was bad at swiming.

The Castle
IAEA has reported explosions near the Castle.
These are inconsequential and was caused by air defence batteries and radars self-destructing due to the unfortunate combination of vodka near cigarettes being smoked.
For some reason I am pleased about this to the level of smugness.

Resumed programing
I hope to be able to do a more normal frontline update in the evening, or tomorrow morning.
Now time for some shashliki for lunch.

In the morning a nearby farmer tried to poison us by delivering a few hundred kilos of watermelons.
How can people eat those vile things?
To my sadness the others ate of the horribilitudes and are now complaining about being to full to have lunch.
Serves them right.
More shashliki for me."

Some confirmation of the damage to the Chongar bridges

Satellite photo showing a considerable gap in the rail bridge and this showing the damage from ground level, (photograph attributed to a Russian Blogger). The Russians had tried to keep people away from the bridge for obvious reasons but somehow this guy got the shot...

A couple of rolls of duct tape and a bit of PVA glue and it will be fine.
