The end?

Always a "T" shirt under but long sleeves and techy. I usually wear a neck warmer too and then the duvet on top. Took me £thousands of mistakes to get to what really works positively toasty

My old ... very old .... Rab Extreme Summit down jacket is my go to for watching Boro in the winter. Merino base layer underneath is sufficient.

That was my feeble attempt at a boro-related joke. We are notoriously weather resistant

Lots of videos on that thread
There's one of soldiers finding a warehouse full of food - allegedly sent by relatives for Russian soldiers - but cheaper for corrupt officers to leave rotting in a warehouse than distribute it to the cannon fodder
Should be spread as far as wide to the Russian population still supporting this terrorist state invasion of another country
The way for Russians to stop dying is Ukraine in to leave Ukraine

As our man said on Monday, 52% of fatalities are now attributed to "Fell asleep and didn't wake up". He thinks it'll get worse.

If I recall correctly US hospital admissions during the battle of the bulge in the very cold winter of 1944/45 had something like half as many admissions due to the cold (ie trenchfoot, frostbite, hypothermia) as from battle wounds. So not as high as 52% of all casualties, but still extraordinarily high. That was during a fairly brutal tank offensive where the Americans were lightly armed, so I guess in a stalemate situation the battle wounds would usually be much less and 52% could certainly be possible.

There should be a crying your eyes out emoji available among the ‘like’ options on this forum. That’s horrific. The west must not abandon the Russian people and it needs to be remembered that most of these poor beggars dying now, are forced to go into a prolonged and desperate suicide mission with no option to avoid or escape it. Then they have days, maybe even weeks to freeze or be blown up, with nothing to do but contemplate the futility of it all and the loved ones they are leaving.

I wonder what is behind this.

'Moscow is Russia'

Been there a few times, used to head to the IKEA there and wander that mall. Khimki is just outside Moscow in the oblast, not Moscow city.

Police are considering arson but think an accident more likely is the last I heard.

Not sure why the link says Barnaul fire is in Moscow, Barnaul is in the Altai east of Kazakhstan.

The Mall fire started, I believe, in a DIY store full of paints and other combustibles. The most likely explanation for all these fires is that the caretakers, janitors, maintenance folks have all been sent to the front to freeze to death.
Our man was telling me some stuff today .... the Putins are actually openly contradicting each other. He thinks that one is in the employ of the army/military/Shoigu camp and the other one of the political camps. So while one Putin went on TV to talk about the new mobilisation and how it was a positive move. The other Putin went on TV the following day to say that it is a bad idea and that it wouldn't happen.
Real Putin is still in Sochi in an unknown state of sickness. The conversation with Scholtz is all that has been heard from him.

One Putin was even shown getting ***ed on champagne. Putin hasn't had a drink for years.

The west's big worry at the moment is what Don Don is up to.

Your mate's prediction about finishing on the 24th seems unlikely, looks like the Russian are digging in for the winter, feels like it go on for along time yet especially if Ukraine want all their land back, but hopefully he is correct!

He has been hedging of late but, speaking with him today, he thinks the possibility that Surovikin just has them walk home is real. He has already asked to surrender and been denied. Next time he may not ask. But, whatever, even if it drags on after christmas, it will simply be a case of more mobiks dying in a senseless and futile manner.

24th is probably a bit too close now… however the 7th Jan (Russian Christmas) will be the big test.

Sadly it seems like Russians are okay with sacrificing their soldiers life is cheap to their leaders it appears feels like it needs the ordinary Russian to turn on the leaders en masse

This is the same guy that claimed Putin was organising an effective total Russian surrender in the war a month ago.

Russia's situation has gotten worse since then, and they're throwing more men in.

Everything he says can be taken with the world's largest pinch of salt.
