The folly of going into the season with an incomplete squad

Agree with the point the OP makes but how many times does it have to be said, clubs like ours can’t just magically complete their business before the season starts. Unless you have an unlimited budget you’re waiting on other clubs to complete deals to free up players. Only reason we are in a worse position than some other clubs is we had more players to replace.

I would rather wait and get the right players than panic buy rubbish again

Many clubs at all levels still haven't got the squad they want. It's not just us. Have we ever started a season with an unfinished squad or first team?

Doesn't every team go into a season with an incomplete squad? It's not just us.

We are having a pretty major overhaul in terms of players and style etc. Probably the biggest one in years. Also add to the fact that thank god we won't just pay anything like under Monk and Pulis.

We've still spent a few quid and thrown about some big contracts by champo standards. You'd think we'd done nothing listing to some on here.

The dropped points is nothing to do with needing a 10mil CF or the fabled left footed CB. It's basic errors.

We've played well enough in all 4 games to have won (maybe not qpr). You can't blame Wednesday on an incomplete squad. Mcnair has to clear the ball in the 90th min instead of trying to take a touch. That's nothing to do with lack of investment etc.

The transfer window is ridiculous. Just look at Watford. They are flying but very likely to lose all 3 of their front line in the next week or so.

Also prem clubs seem very reluctant to release players on loan. Why? Because they have 'in complete squads'.
