THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW - 2022 - OFFICIAL AND UNOFFICAL RUMOURS

If we look at our team and where the gaps are for Wilder players, RWB, overlapping CB, CDM, CF. GK would be nice but it's going to be hard to get Lumley, Stojanovic or Daniels out the door to make the space for a new GK. Totally expect 2 to be gone in hte summer though.

I think the following players are all likely to go this window or in the summer as they don't have the physical attribute for a Wilder team. Dijksteel, Hall, Bamba, Wing, Howson, Ameobi, Ikpeazu. Any money we can make on these in January is a bonus.

If not, it's about freeing wages and registered player gaps. If there are 5 players we would like to bring in and only 2 spots then expect at least 3 out the door.

Suprised at you putting Dijksteel in that list. I'd agree with the others though.

I presume your rationale for adding Dijksteel into the list is he's a right back not a right wing back? Which I agree with, although I still think he can do a job as RCB in a back three and I also think he has the attributes to play DCM, but he's never been given a go in that position. So I think Wilder will keep him.

exactly that, very limited at driving forward as a RWB or even as an overlapping CB.

Maybe the one area we could consider, is CDM. It was his position 6 months before we bought him, I've never seen him play there, but it is a role we struggle with and maybe, one that we could utilise him in

I think that sitting midfielder (Howson's position) is critical to Wilder's tactics and fully expect us to sign someone for that position in Jan.

I think realistically he'll be looking at:
GK
LWB
RWB
DM
Striker (possibly two)

In every media session he's mentioned January, I think it's quite obvious there's a number of the current squad he doesn't rate and we'll need a significant overhaul (albeit at the trickiest time of the season to do so).

He was a CDM as a youth player who Charlton converted into a right back I believe.

From Gazette after signing..............

Anfernee Dijksteel wasn't signed by Charlton to play at right-back.

He was spotted by the Addicks playing for Nike Academy in a trial game and snapped up after impressing in central midfield. And the initial plan was for him to stay in that position.

Indeed, when he first broke into Charlton's first team he was playing in the middle of the park.

But Dijksteel's versatility came in handy when first choice right-back Chris Solly got suspended at the back end of last season.

Dijksteel dropped back and covered and boss Lee Bowyer had himself a new first choice right-back.

"The kid’s a machine,” said Bowyer of the Dutchman at the back end of last season.

Djikesteel is best as the right sided centre half of a three. Whether he can maraud forward remains to be seen. I don't see him there instead of McNair though.

Henderson is on 150k a week.... So slim chance 😂

No interest in Burke. Just another quick none scoring forward. I'm sure UTD fans would drive him here.
Freddie Woodman in on loan? They have keepers coming out of their ears.. they clearly don't fancy him and they loaned him out to Swansea last season.

Just taking up another spot in their squad atm..

two 'mystery' strikers - suggests players that we have not been linked with or that our current manager hasn't worked with before.

the recruitment team have no doubt been on the case since warnock was here and with the addition of Kieran Scott we will perhaps see a change in direction.

all signs point towards the unknown, hidden gems from overseas perhaps?

A quick look at where improvements could be made to the squad.. it's a bit everything but the kitchen sink and involves at least 14 players being loaned out or sold

Lumley/Daniels/GOALKEEPER

Dijksteel/Wood
Fry/Bamba
McNair/DEFENDER

Jones/Spence
Crooks/Payero
Howson/DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER
Tavernier/ATTACKING MIDFIELDER
Bola/WINGER

Sporar/STRIKER
Watmore/STRIKER

FOUR loans to come in? THREE full transfers - Highly unlikely, but we're coming up to Xmas so best get our lists ready for Uncle Steve

13 Stojanovic/James for GOALKEEEPER
5 Hall/Kokolo for LEFT SIDED DEFENDER
8 Wing/Siliki for ATTACKING MIDFIELDER
23 Malley/Sykes for DEFENSIVE MIDFILDER
21 Hernandez/Sivi for WINGER
26 Browne/Olusanya for STRIKER
9 Coburn/Ikpeazu for STRIKER

GOALKEEEPER - Joe Lumley might come into his own, Stojanovic might make a late dash for the first team
LEFT SIDED DEFENDER - Nathan Wood might be enough with Grant Hall in reserves
ATTACKING MIDFIELDER - Siliki may well get his chance and prove his worth.. just needs to get up to speed..
DEFENSIVE MIDFILDER - that sitting, holding position could be covered perhaps by McNair or in the
WINGER - Hernandez might be good enough with Spence returning as a wingback
STRIKER - we defo need another striker
STRIKER - we defo need another striker after that
