* The Original Unofficial "Official" Boro v Hull Match-Day Thread *

"I think carrick will bring crooks on for archer as we need footballers on there against this lot and archer just isn’t contributing enough"

Had to copy this from another post as EFL has edited the original post and replaced Archers name with Forss.

Like no fcuker would ever notice.

I did it for a reaction like this 🤣. Hilarious!
I got it wrong….again!
But thought I’d edit it for some fun and YOU thought I was trying to hide it 🤣🤣🤣

There's lots I prefer about Dijksteel. He's a better athlete and, for my money, a technically better player than Smith.

Where I think Smith is better is mentally. AD does have the odd lapse; Smith is more consistent and reliable, but I think AD is capable of the higher standard of play.

I didn't think the balance of midfield worked tonight; Mowett came on and did well Vs Norwich, but we were 1 up at that point, and that's very different than starting 0-0. In the absence of McGree or Ramsey, I felt we were a little short on flair and creativity first half.
Smith was important when carrick came in. We lacked leaders and he was a big part of why our mentality of the team worked early on. Also he didn’t have to attack as much as we did everything down the left with giles

As teams have learnt about our tactics, smith has found himself higher up the pitch more often and that has exposed some of his frailties. This is where djksteel is a better option for me to give more balance now we require it

Bragging rights for me at work on Friday!
Love it when we do the double over ‘ull.
1-3 and 3-1 has a nice pattern to it, don’t you know! Definitely mauled by the Boro, for six minutes at least.

Reading the match report in the Gazette, Howson was given 6. I'm not sure I was at the same match as the reporter:unsure:.

He, along with the rest of the team, was average first half, but the second half was a totally different game.

#UTB

Plus he was out of position for a fair bit of it as centre half cover.

Yes everyone in the team stepped up and improved in the second half

"Over-reach" ?
Much of his stuff isnt original - its recycled and processed.
It is notable that an increasing number of articles in the Gazette on Boro are spaffed from multiple platforms.
Not original journalism or reporting - just lazy space-filling.
Some reporters watch Carrick`s media-conferences and produce half a dozen "articles" to fill their online pages.

Alot of assumptions of Dijksteel's temperament and concentration levels based on games primarily under wilders dreadful watch hes likely to be a far better player under carrick

I wish you could bottle that feeling of those 10 minutes where we absolutely blew them away, especially so soon after they starting singing about how sh*t we apparently are.

I don’t want this season to end. I feel like it hasn’t quite sunk in… yet.
We blew them away all half, we just stopped putting the ball in the net after we got three.
