the poorest can't afford a car at all and would be using public transport.I have not followed it too much but is it not hitting the poorest who can't afford new cars?
Lots of people who don't have a lot of money still have a car.the poorest can't afford a car at all and would be using public transport.
The poorest don't though, that's what you suggested.Lots of people who don't have a lot of money still have a car.

I am not either just stating a fact. This will hit some business and lower middle classes the hardest, the ones with older diesel cars and vans. And as pointed out by someone earlier this was originally a Conservative policy and its introduction was a condition of the TfL bail out given out by this governement.I'm not interested in point scoring.
People are struggling. This is something that is going to hit a lot of people hard. Coming up with an environmental policy which does not disproportionately affect those who are least well off is a difficult circle to square. And starmer seems to be absolutely doing his nut at khan because this looks like it will lose him votes. And starmer is all about the votes.

Does that include Heathrow. How are going to police fines for those on holiday with a hire car in the greater Landon area. Will they get a bill prior to departure or get away with it.
But to be fair you have to offset with councils are struggling, and have to raise money because this Tory government massively reduced funding. Poor people rely on council funded services, something has to givePeople are struggling. This is something that is going to hit a lot of people hard.
There are plenty of people who use cars and don't have a lot of cash though. Some of my mates are musicians who rely on their cars for work. They certainly aren't rolling in it. Rents are crazy at the moment also.Often not in London though, where public transport is a far better and cheaper option than owning a 12 or 13 year old car.
Absolutely. All hire cars will be ULEZ compliant. There's no hire cars I've ever seem more than a few years old.I'm guessing almost all hire cars will be exempt, but this lack of critical thinking is what the tories are happy to exploit.
