* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Swansea City [04/24] Match Day Thread *

Matt Clarke outstanding again, no coincidence we’re keeping clean sheets since he’s been organising the defence.
I think Ayling has also helped. A natural leader who seems to get around players.

You could also say we've looked better at the back since Howson slotted into the CB role (not something you ever expect to say 😂)

I swear every time Howson has had to be an "emergency centre-back" - I swear he looks like it is his natural position.

Has he ever had a bad game at the back?

Poor watch, but a good result.

Up to 8th, a shame that most of the other teams won too.
We've been a poor watch for most of the season, not as free flowing as last March/April, but we are not the same team as last year.

A big summer is needed, because we have too many average players, we look very slow and ponderous at times. and yet we are 8th... a few tweaks here and there and we could have a real go again next season..

Dieng 6 - no saves to make, dropped a cross
Ayling 7 - worked up and down, good pro
Howson 7 - played with a cigar in his gob
Clarke 7 - easy day at the office
Thomas 6 - his best performance so far
Barlaser 6 - a few dodgy dodgy moments
O’brein 7 - worked hard
Jones 6 - a danger without anything coming off
Azaz 6 - needs to get involved more
Greenwood 5 - usual effort……usual quality
Lath 8 - worked hard, showed good moments of quality

Subs 6 all round - nobody did anything good or bad
