This is not a "second wave" of infections

Leicester situation could be interesting.

Talking of Local lockdowns possibly to individual areas of the city. Pubs and hospitality not opening for a further 3 weeks.

What are you basing that on?

Different disease and a different time I know but the second wave of Spanish flu was significantly worse.
Admittedly I'm a complete layman, but how it could be worse? We know about it, and we are addressing it accordingly. The reason for a second wave of Spanish Flu was because no one knew anything about it and communication mediums weren't the same.

Trouble is that dealing with the pandemic has become highly politicised particularly in the USA.
Its becoming a case of you reap what you sow in Trump states. Texas a prime example.

If we get a resurgence or second wave during our winter when people are already susceptible to illness galore then it might arguably be worse.
It is by no means a certainty, but the conditions for it will be a lot more favourable and any complacency from the public could be all it needs to get a grip. Imagine an asymptomatic person who can now spread it also coming down with a cold or sneezes.
I would hope we've learned enough lessons to prevent it, but I'm not so sure that we have.

There will almost certainly be a second wave come October if not before. Think its sensible to expect restrictions to be reimposed by that time.

It's wait and see time. What we'll do is take note of the successful wave is defeated elsewhere then do something completely different avoiding as much responsibility as possible. It's the English way
