Transfer Deadline Day Thread

I think we'd need backup if Wing goes - we've only got 4 senior pros and play three every match (to the detriment of their fitness in recent weeks).

Coulson I'd be happier going (and not replacing). Bola first choice and Johnson can back up.

I think most business will be done at the top of the pitch. I think a new striker may be contingent on one leaving (we've currently got three and usually only start with one). Could depend if he sees Fletch as playing on the wing tho?

I'll go
In: NML, Diedhiou
Out: Coulson, Britt
Coulson always reminds me of Joe Bennett, crashed onto the scene with a load of hype but then seemed to flatter to deceive. Remember Warnock's Leeds making him look a complete numpty - but we did get £3M for him and then playing for Warnock at Cardiff he was a pretty much ever present in their promotion team.

Can Warnock do something similar with Coulson or get £3M for him(ha)

It'll be interesting whoever signs him, could Cardiff sue him?

Thinking of Adrian Mutu after Chelsea sacked him and he went on to sign for Juventus as a free agent. Not sure of the ins and outs of it though.
I'm not sure if they could sue him to be honest but it'll be interesting one. Good signing for whoever get him. 👍

Why would they sue him? They terminated his contract because he breached it. He is free to join anyone, and could even do so tomorrow.

Chelsea sued Mutu.

I don't think it was specifically for signing for someone else, but for the breach of contract. However not sure if the potential lost transfer fee formed part of the case or not? (Eg if you hadn't breached contract we'd have got X amount in transfer fee). Either way, Chelsea won, it was a lot of money and I think him signing for another club is what prompted them to take action.

Ah OK I see. Will be interesting to see if anything happens there then. Him bagging the winner against them might make them pursue something.

I think Coulson will likely be a loan, and probably his last chance to impress our current manager.

For the record I like Coulson but he's very much in the mould of modern attacking full backs. Whilst Warnock doesn't require 100% defensive fullbacks (over to you Mr Pulis) I think he does like a rounded player, which is probably why he's behind Bola in the pecking order.

Tried him a couple of times on the LW position but that hasn't really worked out either.

and during their loan spells both played in Charlton v Boro game at Selhurst Park (we won 1-0). I have seen Charlton play Boro at lots of grounds - Selhurst, Upton Park, Ayresome, Riverside but never at The Valley.
Me too all the above including the Valley, I went with Mogga as manager, we won 1-0 & took my son, 👍
