Ukraine good and bad news

The Swedes were willing to let Ukrainian pilots fly their Eurofighter jets. To paraphrase Red Dwarf “A superlative suggestion with only two minor drawbacks. One, Sweden doesn’t have any Eurofighter jets and two, Sweden doesn’t have any Eurofighter jets.”

Nothing to do with twitter and the eurofighters weren't Swedish.
The Swedish Gripens have been in action today, even taking a detour over Kalingrad ... much to the Russians' annoyance. The Swedes have one of the surveillance aircraft that you can see on Flightradar. It was harrassed by Russian jets hence the gripen response ...

You can doubt my source all you like, I don't give a toss. You've shown yourself to be an obnoxious idiot before. If you get turfed it will be for that reason, not because you think I'm rehashing twitter news. I scarcely look at twitter tbh, usually only for cycling reasons.

The insults are out of order.

You categorically stated that your source told you that Sweden was sending their Eurofighters to Ukraine. That is an absolute truth and you were subsequently ripped apart by a plethora of posters.

Yup, they don't, and I don't think they even considered trying to get in on Typhoon at the start or have had talks about importing it.

The idea behind Ukraine getting Poland's Mig 29's is that Ukraine operate Mig 29's, so wouldn't take much to take those over, and Poland would get a simple way to upgrade their Migs for something better.

As for flying Typhoon (if that was an option from anywhere) it would take around two years to train their pilots up, and would be at the expense of their own pilots flying hours. Also, who is going to operate them on the ground? That's another year course for someone who knows what they're doing, then another couple of years to have even a rough idea how to fix them.

There might have been some confusion as the Gripen is quite similar in looks from some pictures (as is the Rafale), and comparable in other aspects but much less capable, especially for multi role. Albeit the Gripen is probably more than a match for a Mig-29, especially short range.

I doubt the UK or others would allow export to Ukraine either, for fear of it getting into Russian hands.

Is it the role of an administrator to judge and insult posters? I don't think so. The role ought to be to ensure that all posters operate within the strictures that we agree to when initially signing up.
Disinterested and dispassionate please, otherwise the board will lose its credibility.

Yes it is the role of an administrator to judge posters. I do it all the time. And if I were you, I'd keep my nose out.

That is a very poor response, threatening me as you don't agree with my views. That is both dictatorial and narcissistic. You can ban me by all means, I've enjoyed my time on here, disputing with reasoned and intelligent posters, not a category that you grace Borolad, based on that comment.

A bit like the peace talks as apparently Abramovich was poisoned along with 2 Ukrainians according to Sky News

Always a matter of when and not if. Russia has a large stock of sarin and chlorine infused munitions which they can bring to bear along with a host of other abominations for weapons.

There are multiple reports of a video which showing Ukrainian soldiers shooting Russian prisoners in the knee.

However, while this is totally unacceptable behavior and deserves to be condemned, there's no evidence the Azov Brigades were the ones who carried it out, according to various reports that I've read. As per the CNN report (and others):
While in no way condoning mistreatment of prisoners in any way - if this is true - let's remember the Azov soldiers are in their own country (or there with the Ukrainian government's blessing) and Russian invaders are not.
If Putin wants to show it then maybe it will scare a few more Russians - and make the liberation of Ukraine easier.

A military analyst today (according to Sky News) said they think Russia will overpower Ukraine in Donbass and Crimea - but for me that means hopefully they will at least be booted harder and harder out of the rest of the country they have no right to be in
