What on earth is going on at AZ Alkmaar?

Nederlands has got a problem with this. Not sure what the reasons are behind it but the hooligan problem there - which has always existed - has been getting way out of control recently.

Reading the report it sounds like West Ham fans may have attacked the AZ fans in the stadium last week so may have been retaliation which escalated, balaclavas used so preplanned

They have form
Horrible when we went there in the Uefa
Huge fellas dressed in black knocking 7 bells out of anyone they could find

We were watching in a pub in Alkmaar. At the final whistle few of us went straight to the station to get back to Amsterdam and, thankfully, the police held the idiots back.

Sadly, about 7 of them piled into the pub and attacked my mates and girlfriends as they were finishing off their last drinks.
Police arrested all n sundry including one of my mates - we got him out about 5 in the morning. His wife was with us - distraught.

That looks awful, attacking West Ham players friends and family
Looking at videos posted online, it appears to be a very orchestrated attacked. Hundreds storming the gates and getting into the stadium. All lads in black with balaclavas.

Funny how they didn't try to attack the West Ham away end but went for the families instead. And then getting unstuck against one giant of a man.
The stewards were useless, but they are stewards not security. Where were the police?

UEFA have to ban them indefinitely if you can't guarantee safety in the ground.

I followed Feyenoord for a couple of years, they were a wild bunch and I saw the worst football violence I've witnessed. It was the mid 80's and the police met it head on with violence of their own.

They were drawn against Moenchengladbach in Europe and during the away leg burned a pub to the ground.

Rotterdam was a wild place back then.

Seems to be a consistent culture across Europe with clubs hooligans obsessed with English clubs with a hooligan history. Disgusting to see them try their luck with players and families.

I think it is fair to assume that the punitive action from UEFA will not be good enough. AZ should withdrawn from any European football and fined heavily. Possibly even playing games behind closed doors. If this was an English side doing the same thing, you could bet your bottom dollar that it would be the maximum enforcement action.

England get away with it year after year despite their healthy following of knuckle draggers. That's perhaps why English clubs are targeted. Oh, and no punishment.

utterly sickening actions from these clowns. English fans have the reputation but to me the issue is massive in Europe and only a case of a few muppets in England..=

AZ need the book thrown at them
