I think it was a smoked Gouda. My gran used to run the residents bar at the Marton country club in the 1970s early 80s. They would have tasting nights and she could bring samples home. Smoked Gouda used to hit the spot and a crumbley white cheese held together with a caramelised onion chutney . I love cheese me.

Shame on you. A cheese dunce for sure. The most expensive cheese in the world that we've priced so that people who have more money than sense, who know nothing about cheese, but will buy and think they're "in the know" is from Asturias

Immitation as flattery obvs. I buy Cabrales in Yorkshire for a few quid a lump. You haven't had it have you. I mean, when I lived in Andalucia, I couldn't get hold of it that easily either.

A really strong gum bleeding cheddar, Bleu d'Auvergne and Gorgonzola piccante are my favourites.
