Woodgate appointed Bournemouth manager?!?

I genuinely wish him well, obviously not at the expense of MFC

If he can get them to a play off final he’d have done well and deserve a longer contract.

They seem to be more suited to playing 3 at the back.. which is something Woodgate has had most success with also.

I blame the papers.. who write stuff exactly like this. Jonathan Woodgate has close links to the club with him being ex player and ex manager, so it's exactly the sort of thing that a boro message board would speculate on.

It puts Woodgate in a really difficult position doesn't it - he has to now tell everyone he had no idea what was about to happen.

But no paper or site has "Woodgate appointed Bournemouth manager" which is what the OP has written. He may well get the job....... but the fact is he hasn't therefore don't post it!

So papers post speculation and jump the gun (as news sources btw) but on a football fans messaging forum this cannot be the case? If it isn't the case it opens up discussions for folks to 'say what if?' Which is surely what a fans forum is partly for.

What if Woodgate does become their manager.. how will Middlesbrough fans feel? will the Bournemouth squad suited to how he wants his teams to play. What does it mean to our promotion/play off chances.. etc etc

Me too Newy, at present they're our closest rivals for the 6th spot & fingers crossed it doesn't go well for them, which is a catch 22 really

I think that was the problem with us, he spoke well about his plans on how he wanted us to set up, play etc, but we didn't have the personnel, he should have said I want to build a team to play XY& Z, maybe he has those players at Bournemouth & he could test his ideas out

The Hollywood ending is a Woodgate vs Warnock play off final. Imagine that happening and fans still not being aloud in stadiums.

Jeepers!! my biggest fear is that Warnock ends up being the best manager we never got chance to see, imagine Sharon pulling the shepherds crook round cool hand's neck straight after winning promotion to the prem. I honestly think I would cry.. for weeks.

who is willing him to fail? - I mean apart from the 2nd April and any possible play off game(s) against boro?

I have nothing against the bloke, but he is taking over the club who are 2 points ahead of us and in the playoffs, if he did fail there it could benefit us
