Gestede. Gestede. Gestede.
And Mido.
And Mido.
Connolly who scored 2 goals in 18 appearances.. Rudy managed 19 appearances in his last season with us and didnt cover anywhere near as much ground.. still just the 2 goal tho..Gestede was a massive waste of money and is probably one of our worst signings but he's not even close to our worst ever striker. Which is more of a reflection on others than him because he was fooking terrible.
Surprised no-one has mentioned Connelly yet.
Billy Woof seemed to stick around forever and I found out recently that Hankin was only 26 when he played for us, had always assumed he was at the end of his career.Billy Woof
Ray Hankin
We've had some absolute beauties wear the number 9 shirt.
This time last year Akpom would have made the list.
This may be controversial but there was nothing wrong with Ben Roberts IMO. He conceded the cup final goal but to me you’d be hard pushed to find a ‘keeper who wasn’t 12 or so yards off his line so early in a game. The fact an opposition midfielder could waltz through the middle of the field and launch a shot at goal - completely unchallenged - after 40secs was always the real issue. God knows what the rest of the team were doing.
It’s too easy and simplistic to blame goalkeepers. I haven’t seen every goalkeeper in the 147-year history of the club but I’m almost certain there’ll have been a poorer one than Roberts.
Baragan had some good games at centre backAnother vote for Barrigan. At least Hoyte scored one really good goal
"He was fooking terrible" is my exact quote. I'm not sure I could've been any clearer on my views of Gestede. You seem to think I'm defending him!Connolly who scored 2 goals in 18 appearances.. Rudy managed 19 appearances in his last season with us and didnt cover anywhere near as much ground.. still just the 2 goal tho..
the season before that he didn't manager any and the season before that he managed a Connolly busting 3 goals in 19 championship appearances.. not to labour a point.. but it was 1 goal in 16 the season before that.,
Jim Irvine 37 goalss in 93 games we could do with a few more failures with that recordJim Irvine Phil Boersma
Lee Miller and the THREE SEASONS he was with us.."He was fooking terrible" is my exact quote. I'm not sure I could've been any clearer on my views of Gestede. You seem to think I'm defending him!
Was he really worse than Lee Miller or Marcus Bent though (for example)?
As for Connelly I'm just commenting that many have stated previously their belief he's one of the worst strikers they've ever seen so just commenting that it's surprising he hasn't been mentioned!
I maintain for a free transfer and very cheap wages Chris Killen (who also played a game for us at centre half) was nowhere near one of the worst players I've seen in a Boro shirt. At least Aaron Connolly tried! Goal scoring record was terrible and he looked like he had the confidence of a virgin at a swingers party but he did try. Mind you the pally fanny incident wasn't great!
Another shout for Kris Boyd here. I was excited about him then he was just rubbish.

More recently I would go for Dong Gook Lee and Lee Miller. Some of the others mentioned were decent elsewhere, but it just didn't work with us and some just didn't put in a shift.
Bobby Braithwaite was a winger, not a striker.Oh how could I forget Braithwaite
That midfield is perfection, think Shawky on the bench tooOur engine room is….
James Lee Siliki and Adlene Guedioura
Kevin Thomson makes the bench, but is out for the season with splinters
Without further ado onto our coveted striker positions. This will be very competitive!
My vote is for Lee Miller. Looked like a competition winner and hopelessly out of his depth every minute he played. Another Scottish hero from our 2010s era.
He would have been a welcome addition but has just missed out on the bench to Kevin “Mr Glass” ThomsonThat midfield is perfection, think Shawky on the bench too
Martin was (is) a left sided forwardBobby Braithwaite was a winger, not a striker.
