Aaron Connolly

I trust Wilder to get it right. Connolly looks an accident waiting to happen though, although getting away to the other end of the country could be a blessing. I would only take him on loan with an option to buy come June.
I think if he has a name of causing trouble Col i cant see him coming here, the atmosphere & closeness between the players looked excellent at the final whistle v Forest, we dont need anything, or anyone, to upset what we have

Reading the Brighton fans page they've had 3 years in the premier league and they think they are Man City and we are a terrible championship club. Kids these days, no sense of place or history

they are still bitter and sulking that we beat them to promotion under Karanka. Such an entitled bunch of fans.

Footballers 'date' people like love Island stars (used loosely) and girl band singers. It's a fact of life. Roughly the same age and usually 'attractive'. They love the glitzy life.

I couldn't really care less what he does off the pitch if he's doing well on it. If he comes and scores 10 in 20 and is in the Pig Iron every other night then who cares😂

Jokes aside... I'm sure the manager and staff will do indepth homework on any signing. I definitely wouldn't write him off because Brighton fans don't like him. The lads 21 and played plenty of prem games and for Republic of Ireland.

Hope I'm wrong, but everything I've read about this kid sends red lights flashing. That photo is the icing on the cake - what a bell. Just when we have a team on the up, with a squad all pulling in the same direction. what we don't need is some non-scoring big-time Charlie sowing resentment and disequilibrium.

Passionately hope I'm wrong and we see little Aaron knuckle down, but we're not living in the days when he'd have grown up living in the Medhurst, shining Willie Maddren's boots. Suspect failing at Boro may be the beginning of a Ravel Morrison style descent. (No doubt I'll be eating my words when he scores 5 minutes in on his debut!)

As for Brighton fans, agree they need to get over the promotion decider - especially since their guy clearly deserved his red card. But maybe we need to do the same re Sean Dyche also...?

I gave up my annoyance for Sean Dyche a while ago, he’s done a fantastic job at Burnley, think the bigger issue was Dyche himselfs hang up from the cup that created the resentment to begin with.

Brighton fans think they are a massive club now but in reality they are just a feeder club for the bigger teams from London like Arsenal, West Ham, Palace 😉 etc

if you speak to local football fans when abroad they have no idea who Brighton are, yet they all know who we are though still 👋.

Seems to me they are just upset that the lads girlfriend is more famous than them.

Given the structure now at the club it's probably the Director of Football identifying players. Wilder makes a request for a certain type and the DOF does the recruitment.

As for Connelly. I seem to remember him being fast, direct and with a bit of skill.

Actually like Brighton have a great manager play lovely football, thought most of there fans were decent after the championship season, never been to Brighton away but heard lots of good comments about in been friendly and great away trip

It does make you wonder how many have actually visited Middlesbrough and the surrounding area. It wouldn't surprise me if those making comments are just basing it on stereotypes.

Our ground is in an awful area, I can understand the views of those visiting.
Yet I'd rather that than Brightons ground. Absolutely nothing around it and you have to park 10 miles away and get a bus as its in a green belt.

I wouldn't say Boro's ground is 'rough'. I'd argue handy for pubs and transport (easy walk from town and station).

It depends what you want from an away day. I'd rather have easy access in a 'rough' area than a ground that's hard to get to but nice (whatever that means). Just look at Blackpool.. The whole area is absolute demise yet I can't wait😂
