Giles - class act

Sh1t happens, no worries from me.
My bigger concern is that we are still bias to that right side when building up play. So much of the match yesterday giles was in acres of space with no service and we automatically look to jones everytime. We have seen the crossing and attacking intent he has, we need to feed him!

Yeah it’s still an issue, and Wilder knows it.

We gave Crooks a lot of credit past season, but I think it was actually more to do with the right sided centre back creating the overloads.

We’re just unable to do that on the left hand side, and can’t create the same sort of triangles.

Just one of those things, I was irritated but I certainly wouldn't have expected an apology from him.

He seemed gutted at the full time whistle too, even though it hadn't cost us everything in the end, glad to see he cared.

But there will definitely be some radgey b***ds on sociall media who'd be demanding an apology and abusing him because they paid to watch it.
He'll just be trying to cut that off.

Seen the goal a few times and still don't know what he was trying to do 😂😂

Sh*t happens, no issues here, just one of those things 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️.

I think if we still had Tav it would be a different story. McGree has struggled a little and he's the natural link into Giles. Having said that Giles still saw plenty of the ball vs WBA

Fair play but that stinks of a tweet written by his social media person/manager/whatever the hell it is.

"I will learn from it and come back stronger" - bit of an extreme statement in the context of things, he scored an own goal, big deal.

Great player though.

Probably in the minority but the tweet annoyed me - that is also probably because I'm a grumpy old man :ROFLMAO:
I don't like this pandering to the crowd and fans, no matter how sincere. I'd ban all players off social media for the good of themselves.
Agreed with Wilder's comments post-match that he had told him to get on with it, sh1t happens and stop throwing his arms in the air for the benefit of the crowd.

As a fan I'm more bothered about his overall contribution over 90 mins game on game rather than an isolated mistake. It happens.
If he starts doing it every week then we'll let him know our feelings and more importantly so will the manager and he won't be in the team anyway. :)

he did seem genuinely upset about it, and fell to his knees at the full time whistle.

I still have absolutely no idea what he was trying to do.

Its great having someone on the LHS that can put a decent ball in . we missed that last season.
his positioning was crap though for the OG, he needs to keep an eye on the player he's marking, he has no idea where he's gone and thus doesn't realise he could either let it go or control it and counter / clear. hopefully an isolated mistake he learns from, 'cos he's mustard going forward.

We've gone from being pretty hard to score against, albeit with some comedy goal keeping thrown in last season, to supposedly having a great defensive leader and better keeper and conceding goals for fun.
It may be that we have come up against 3 decent sides so far, or its just bedding in a refreshed defensive unit.

We've got a player here in Giles. More often than not he gets a good cross in. He knows when and when not to beat his man. And doesn't look for the soft option.
