Places you ended up living but never thought you would??

In the 80's I was transferred down to Appledore, Devon from Smith's Dock, South Bank and worked there for just over a year I was in my early 20's and the shipyard had put us all up on a holiday camp that was open to the public and every week there was a new busload of young females arriving on holiday. I thought I had gone to heaven.

I remember the locals putting an overtime ban on to try and sicken the travelling lads off, I was over the moon, work was getting in the way of my social life. ;)

I loved North Devon.

1997, Stockport. CC Cup Semi Final.

First go, match called off - waterlogged pitch.

Second go, 2-0 win.

If someone had said in less than three years you will have met your missus and moved there......😳😳😳

Haugesund / Stavanger in norway.

Soyo in Angola

Rotterdam in Holland

Cadiz in Spain

Brae in Shetlands

Alexandria in Egypt

Now pottering about in Tengiz/Atyrau in Kazakhstan but will be visiting other coties like Aktobe/Almaty

Probably Sheffield, although I had mates here and needed to move back up North at the time.

Lived in London prior but that was always on the list from an relatively early age.

Sweden is next on the hit list, already have the house, just need them to let me in full time now (thanks Brexit!) (y)

Always fancied spending some time in New York but appreciate that's not easy either and the city appeared to have regressed during Covid, so maybe not.

Surely you could join the Swedish House Mafia?

Batam Island, Indonesia. Spent 2 years there. Geoje Island, south Korea. Spent 4 years there. Loved Batam and would go back there to live and work in a heart beat but 4 years in South Korea was longer than I would want and the last 18 months I really didn't enjoy living there.

It is a beautiful city. Never stops raining though. 🤣 I work on Stord island so fly in and out of Bergen regularly.
Yep you have to not mind rain too much to live in Bergen. The summer I was there was a bit rubbish. The weather was fantastic in most places, but often not in Bergen! I hiked in the mountains in July during constant lashing rain.
