Racism.

I will bite. What is less educated? My cousin without an O level with a very successful business, a bricklayer. My niece has a PHD , she has had lots of acedemic work published. Put her in a car and she would get lost finding Redcar.

A lad on here suggested voting should be weighted.

Keep up, he doesn’t like generalisations.

A question for ST, Rob, Jam, CtC. And the others who have said either all or most Brexiteers are racist. Let's be brutal, does that include:
Me
My wife who taught in a mainly Muslim school and asked to go to the mosque to thank her.
My sister in law, a heart nurse who has been part of saving 1000's of life's. I don't think she refused non whites.
My brother who runs a charity, I think Rob knows him, a multi cultural charity helping people get over an illness.
My son's.
Two lads who Clean the streets,
Somewhere there us between 8m and 17m racists based on your criteria.

I find what you say about my family frankly I think it is disgusting.
Once again you make stuff up about me, not once have I said all brexiters are racist. Last time you had the decency to apologise but it does seem to becoming a habit.
After some thought I don't think every single racist voted leave, some were probably too thick to fill the ballot paper in correctly.

Again I agree on the position of remainers by default they would want a soft Brexit'. But go to a council estate and ask them what sort of Brexit' they wanted. A large majority would say they wanted to be out. That's the problems with polls. Ask in Nunthorpe you will get one answer ask in Berwick Hills you will get another, ask me and I will say the moon is made of cheese.
That's why Cameron's to blame for all this. The EU membership issue was and still is far more complex than Yes and No on a ballot paper. We have a representative democracy for a reason, otherwise you might as well put every decision of government to a public vote or pick 600 MPs at random from the electoral register.

less educated could be a million things, but largely not their fault in most cases, just born into it, but it doesn’t mean it’s not a factor. Someone who doesn’t understand, or understand numbers as well as others especially is unlikely to be able to get a grasp of trade and economics as well etc.

Doesn’t mean people without good grades can’t be successful, far from it, and especially not in manual/ physical trades that have more demand than supply. Bricklaying is a good one, ok money, whilst housebuilding is in demand, although not so much if we cut down immigration, and tough work for the over 50’s. Would I trust most bricklayers to make sound judgement on the economy? Probably not, as there’s better options as a whole, like trade experts and economists, which largely have better grades as it’s a more complex field. After that, I’d then be looking at guys who had a strong numbers game. Same way I wouldn’t trust an accountant, or doctor to build my extension.

The fact that a hard brexit was likely to hit hardest (even by Tory/ leave forecast), and hit the North East hardest means people that choose this in the less well off areas are either maniacs, do not understand it(enough), or are massively prejudiced by some really messed up ways. If the majority of people don’t understand (and they probably don’t), then it shouldn’t be a vote by those who don’t. Or 20% of voters should not have the power to lead us to the most economically damaging scenario, but mostly damaging to the ones who got led on to vote for it.

This also doesn’t mean that some less well off “brexiteers” won’t gain, some inevitably will, but they will be well offset by those that got led on, and who will get screwed.

Also, I was born in a very rough area, and spent most of my youth in one, until we made it out, albeit without the best education initially, although this was largely my fault as I was a lazy fool, not going to blame that on the area! I started of as a manual trade too, so I know what it can be like.
