So this weekend has seen multiple players racially abused online...

Don’t you see the irony in that post ?

Yes.

It's similar to the fact that shop theft will be at an all time low right now (seeing as thry can't really do it in the main) but theft from mv, burglary, robbery and other such crimes will be on the up.

It would be great if we could just turn crime off but you're talking about significant investment and a major generational shift.

It wouldn't happen in my lifetime.

If you helped put a racist in no10 then your part of the problem, and by doing so voted for a party that has cut police numbers by 30,000 doesn't help police said crimes.

I'll say this once more, you are not anonymous on social media, whether you upload id or not. You are traceable via your broadcast IP adress back to your provider and they can identify the household from your router IP.

You can be anonymous, but most wouldn't know how to do that.

The police do not have the resources to chase racist abuse on social media so it is ignored.

If you want to tackle anti-social behaviour vote for a government that won't strip the legislature to the bone and have a leader that isn't racist and has an apetite to stamp it out.

ID's for social media would be useless without a legal system to back it up. That legal system is the responsability of us all in who we vote for and whether we want to spend additional taxes in creating a better society.
Or have a leader someone who doesn’t exactly set the best example

You're suggesting that 50% of the populalation are so thick they become pejudiced. Just how high is that horse?
I'm guessing you're referring to Brexit here?

If you are then a huge part of the sentiment behind the vote out ticket was prejudice; the immigration issue and the return to the times when Britain ruled the waves, were fundemtal to the vote.

The voting based was largely the older generations and the general election followed in the same way.

Plus it wasnt 50% of the population, it was actually about a quarter that voted out.

There no high horses to see here, just facts.

Just because we have a mixed cabinet that stops the man in the street being racist does it? Pull the other one.

You go in any pub across the land and you'll hear mild racism.

The REAL problem is until we admit we have a problem we won't get rid of the problem. It's like when your grandparents say something that is a bit close to the line, they were brought up with it. Until we are a couple more generations down the line I don't think we'll racism eradicated.

It will eventually die out, but we aren't there yet. Another 20 years and we'll be about th

The same generation that rejected the EU are the same generation that embraced the EEC referendum.

It is quite clear that taking the knee is not having the desired effect.

What can be done to solve this? The idiots can hide behind faceless and often nameless social media accounts and it seems to be becoming more prevalent.

It makes me think that our club have done it right by demanding action and not gestures.
It happened before and after taking the knee, the issue is we have always had far right morons, the weaponisation of patriotism and xenophobia to win a brexit vote, and the installation of some pretty unsavoury people in our government have fermented more racism and normalised it.
