Tees Valley to lose £13million due to Brexit

Neither side of the EU referendum seemed to issue many facts particularly economic facts. For me the Remain side were the most lacking, it felt like trust us we know best for you and when that came from the mouth of David Cameron it was very difficult to believe. Btw I never saw the Boris Bus in the campaign before anyone brings that up.
Basic common sense should’ve told you that trade with the eu would tank/crash. EU didn’t want the uk to succeed, why would they ? And to come out outside the single market and customs union is/was suicidal from a business standpoint.
Run by idiots and voted in by idiots. (Which I’m ashamed to say includes my Dad and thick racist brother)

Well said

EFL - if the flow of labour is reduced what would basic common sense tell you would happen to wages and unemployment? Particularly for lower paid people working in the UK.

Personally I would have left the EU but remained in the Single market similarly to Norway and Switzerland.

I expected slightly less trade with EU countries, but the EU is not the World. Our biggest industry now is financial services and the UK is part of a global financial services market. Big Corporations were using EU rules to avoid and minimise Tax on profits - Amazon and Apple are massive and are 2 businesses doing it.

You can eat financial services? The EU are in the process of removing tax breaks for large corporations and tightening up scrutiny of offshore financials. This is the major reason for the Tories to push Brexit.

Yes - you can eat well with the money earned from financial services. NY and Wall Street is the same isn't it?

Tax avoidance across EU border countries has been going on for a good while, I would not hold my breath for it to change soon. A founding principle of the EU is the free movement of capital within the EU and getting Ireland to drop its Apple deal has been running for decades.

The media say Cameron called the EU vote to get UKIP off his back, they were taking Tory votes. Most Conservative MPs were remainers before the Vote, certainly most Cabinet members were. The Conservative government issued a leaflet for every household asking everyone to vote Remain. It did change after the vote, but than there was the issue of accepting the vote. Most MPs were a bit shocked with the 2016 vote, like the centralised Media.
