The booing of Jordan Henderson

I also think you need to understand the thoughts of the rest of the squad. If I was currently in the England squad and seeing Henderson picked (and made captain btw), I would be pi$$ed. it’s a joke that he is still being included, and the current Premier League players will also feel that. It can’t be good for the overall team and squad morale.

Well I’m not sure you are qualified to make that asssumption on behalf of the players. No player has come out in the press and said that

qualified to make an assumption? How does that even work? It’s my opinion, hence the wording “if I was in the England squad…”

Obviously no player is going to go to the press with this type of opinion. Is this you how you actually judge overall feelings of squad / players? Because if so, I think your in for a bit of a shock….

Not sure what you’re saying here. Did you miss the part about normal Brits living and working in Saudi? I know a few who work there for example. Are those lads also bad?
I’m saying the British governments relationship with the Saudi’s has no part to play in public opinion of Saudi Arabia. The public aren’t the government. Personally I dislike the governments relationship with them.

I think individuals at the level of the normal working person choosing to cash in is different to an already multi millionaire footballer doing it and it’s a kop out comparing them.

I also don’t think the average working person wears rainbow laces and beats the drum as an ambassador of a cause before moving to a country which is diametrically opposed to that cause.

Do you think JWP has a 100% positive view of the situation? Does he think, fair enough Henderson is playing at a conference standard while I'm playing really well at the top end of the PL, he deserves the nod in front of me.

Players never come out directly and say that sort of thing in the press, but maybe a few his team mates are making his feelings clear for him?

Synchronicity?

Southgate
”What Antonio says defies logic’

Seems JWP is struggling with the decision, but keeping stum. He’d earned and deserved a place.

To be honest, any grown man booing someone is tragic enough regardless
regardless... booing an adult bloke who chases a bag of air about a field for an - obscene amount of money - is nothing & certainly isn't the kind of tragic that has had people chopped up, hung & beheaded..

Southgate knows why people are angry he's just too much of a suit to rock the boat or care.. I'm sure he'll be waving whatever public policy flag the FA next roll out for him, unless it offends his handlers..

Henderson is a hypocrite, Southgate is a feckless sheep.. I'd have neither anywhere near the England setup, however the FA have never been known to be leaders..

Didn’t watch the game, but were the crowd booing Henderson because he’s taken the Saudi dollar or more likely because they thought he shouldn’t have been picked on current form? Did the pundits comment on this?

We prob don’t know for sure
I reckon there are 3 possible hypothesis
Form, Saudi Dollar, LGBT support hypocrisy

None of those reasons defy logic

To be fair there was a boo or two for Maguire at Hamden wasn't there?

So it could be 100% on being picked when a chunk of paying customers think he shouldn't be involved, but I doubt you can ever be sure, I personally assume that a chunk of it was for his hypocritical almost gas-lighting interview also.

Well there are multiple reasons to boo :

- massive gay community advocate , only to turn around and **** off to a strict Islamic country where being gay is banned because they threw lots of money at him. I know it’s overused , but he is actually the epitome of virtue signalling
- he is well past his best and we have much better options now in midfield
- he is playing in a developing league where the quality isn’t the the best. At best the quality currently is championship standard in that league with some world class players , so why pick a player playing at that level ?
- he is a mackem

You've painted an allusion that the rest of the squad will be unhappy, that's just something you've fantasised, opinions are largely meaningless without something grounded in reality to base it on.

Personally I feel that JWP should be skipped over as he is never ever going to be athletic enough to play regular england football. Skip over and go down to the 20-22 year old gorup and select one of those instead of Henderson.

Players will always be unhappy when they aren't picked, or their mates aren't picked, doesn't mean they are right though

You need to look at the belligerent way that you often post on here, you are becoming tiresomely predictable in your confrontational attitude. It's not a good look, we are here to discuss the trivial (and the not-so-trivial) not to accumulate imaginary "internet points".
I don't NEED to do anything. What I posted was factually correct, facts matter more than opinion and always have. I'm happy to discuss anything at all, trivial or otherwise and do, sometimes I'm right sometimes I'm not, sometimes there is no right or wrong, but facts are still facts.

We should remember this wasa friendly B team game, If he gets picked for the first team then we have something to complain about. Hopefully he won't and hopefully he will phased out for younger players over the course of this season
