Their time wasting was off the scale

It's exactly what we did away at Norwich.
The one where Bamford broke both his legs😁

It did come back to bite us though at Wembley.

He totally bought it didn’t it.
Then there was a moment where their player was down for ages with "cramp" and the ball was on the roof of the net. Ref should have been telling their keeper to get the ball down whilst their player received treatment, as it just gave him an opportunity to waste a bit more time retrieving the ball once play was ready to commence.

Absolute nugget.

It happens in so many games across all leagues that it’s becoming ridiculous.

There are 2 solutions for me.

Book the first offence of time wasting. Any further repeat time wasting is a second booking. After the first time it happened tonight. I said he’ll get booked in the last 5 minutes and by then it’s too late. There has to be a deterrent.

The other option is just stop the clock when the ball goes out of play and do away with added time.

Fair enough he gave a load of time added on, but I’ve seen games where the added time has not matched the extent of time wasting.

The "head injury".......if this were real Forss should have been shown a red for violent conduct. As it was, there wasn't even a free kick.

So blatant cheating goes unpunished. And will happen again. And again. And again........

Could be sorted easily. Injured - 5 min timeout off the pitch to make sure everything okay.

One of my pet hates with footy. That and surrounding the ref gobbing off at him. And the ball a pubes width outside the quadrant for corners.

I couldn’t believe that as I must admit I never realise he’d left it there.

Exactly It was the fake head injury I took the most issue with it as it was a complete fabrication and just makes a mockery of real head collisions.
That was the only thing I took issue with the players for doing. He looked to see where Forss was and threw himself forward into him then rolled around holding his head when he a) initiated the "contact" and b) didn't make anywhere near enough contact for it to hurt. That needs retrospective punishment. The rest of it, the FA need to start looking at the rules. The time wasting has been far worse this season than I've ever seen before. Maybe stopping the clock needs to happen, or they need to look at publicly saying that the referees to book players earlier for time wasting and send them off if it's persistent.

The referee lost control of it, but what could he really do. It would take a very brave referee to give a player a second yellow for time wasting in a playoff semi final. So even when he gave the yellow card, it didn't deter the player from doing it further because he knew there'd be no further punishment.

The thing is when your own team does it you rarely moan about it, it’s been going on for years now but teams are just finding more and more ways to do it.
We don’t know how to do it though, never have. As someone said on another thread, we need to get better at the dark arts.

TV presumably. There would be no way of knowing when a broadcast would end?
All the American sports stop the clock, and their games are pretty much built for TV. They still show NBA games and the clock stops every time the ball's off the court, and there's multiple time outs that can be called during the game as well.

If the clock was stopped there would be less time taken over goal kicks, throw ins, etc, as well as less "injuries". There was far more than 8 minutes wasted in the second half as well. I'd be surprised if there was more than 25-30 minutes of actual football in the second half before injury time.

I've said it time and time again. The FA needs to let the Ref in the Dressing room prior to the game laying the law down. Goal kick 10 seconds, head injury or assumed, your off to Hospital. Kick the ball away it's a yellow regardless of how far. Fans are getting pished off with it. If tonight the ref stopped his clock for every fannying about we would be looking at 15 minutes ET.

The ref lost control in the first half, and when he did eventually book one of their players for a cynical foul, it wasn’t even a booking, it was purely to appease the crowd. He let far too much go early on and was then always chasing it. As someone else said, it pointless booking a keeper for time wasting on 80 minutes as there’s no way he’ll send them off if they keep doing it.
