Tory MP suspended

And to think Angela Rayner had the decency to apologise for calling them ’Scum’

The worst bit about what the government are doing is they know it will have little to zero implications for them.
We have a compliant public who, in the main, are happy, with their two children, car and mortgage. Nothing else matters for them.

I have a feeling we are only just starting to discover how far we still have to fall before someone is held accountable.

My guess is that we aren't even scratching the surface of malfeasance and corruption.
There is a concern isn’t there. There is still a groundswell of support for the party no matter how badly they treat the electorate

Quarter of MPs calling to replace sleaze watchdog have been punished by it.

59 MPs trying to prevent Owen Paterson suspension include MP who didn’t declare several mansions, and one asked questions after a £10,000 donation

What’s just as bad is that 28 labour MPs abstained. Including my own MP. I shall be writing to her to explain why

The tories will be out at the next election. The vast majority of the electorate don't support Johnson nor did they at the last election.

Whilst the current government are shocking both from a corruption and ability perspective they won't see another term.

As a country we are suffering at the minute but this too will pass.

I wish I shared your optimism
The maths simply don’t work - especially after boundary changes.

A progressive alliance may cut through but a lot of work to do to put that in place

You are right that a progressive alliance is required Labour won't get a majority but they will get enough to stop a tory majority. I just don't think the electorate are as dumb as many on this board make out. As the old saying goes you can fool some people some of the time.

It's corruption, pure and simple

Don’t forget - Johnson, at some stage is likely to be hauled against a standards committee. The last thing he needs is impartiality.

I’m reading the impetus for change came from no10 rather than backbenchers
