Watmore to Millwall ?

Not sure that's entirely true, two goal in three games yes but then start about 10 games with scoring. He was starting when Carrick came in then dropped after Preston game and not had a look in since. Carrick obviously doesn't see him as part of his team.

it's a bit of a minefield of unknowns though isn't it? Are Millwall ultimately a promotion rival? We don't know. He may score against rivals though. I'd agree if you were locked in an automatic promotion battle with someone, but the table is too tight to second guess these things.

Personally i'd prefer he stayed just as another option, but finances may dictate otherwise
 
I'm a huge Watmore fan, he's a great plater to have in the squad and if he goes ill be really disappointed.

If we've got a fee though and his contract is up in the summer then who are we to begrudge him going and playing regularly.
Been a great free transfer. Wish him all the very best

He had a head injury - so wasn't available for several early games under Carrick.
 
I would be really sorry to see him go!
An emotional attachment has been built when he was coming back from injury....we were all willing him to succeed - and he did! What a fabulous player he has been for us - always gave us 100%. Good luck DW whatever comes next!!

If he'd had been a welder we'd definitely have kept him 😉
 
Surprised at this. As said above, why strengthen a play off rival. Makes no real sense to me on that basis.
 
Fine with me as long as we have a replacement lined up. Contract out in the summer, get a bit of a fee, free some wages up.

On the other hand if we dont replace him then it is a stupid decision to strengthen a playoff rival with a good squad player who would come in good use until end of the season.

Ironically I think carrick will have looked at the Millwall game and would have been frustrated with his cameo. Lost the ball a couple times trying to get his down and get out of it. That might have been the decider on his future

Understandable, but I’m a bit gutted. He’s done great for us

Mainly a right winger as well too I think? Watmore has backed up McGree on that left hand side.

If we're looking for a genuine back up to McGree that's a lot more difficult than it looks imo. He's effectively playing a number 10 but from the left wing. Not many players come to mind who play a similar role if I'm honest.
