What next for Leo?

Wasn't Leo appointed / announced as a the substitution coach under Warnock, after he started getting his old boys in?
So in charge of briefing the player going on essentially, on a match day anyway.
No he wasn't. Warnock commented on how thorough Leo was with the detail given to the subs, and jokingly suggested it should be an official role at clubs. People took this as an insult for some reason when it was a casual compliment

Don't get mwelos hate towards Leo. He's Boro through and through and the players clearly like him and respect him. You can see this for yourselves on match days and the training videos Boro occasionally release on YouTube. He also clearly offers an insight into South American football, which we can use to our advantage to unearth potential gems with high sell on values.

He stays until he wants to leave for another challenge as far as I'm concerned.

You’d think we’d need a communicator just for Hernandez and Payero so Leo fits in there plus I don’t believe we’ll stop bringing in Latin players.

Wow, wow.

There's times on here when you can't believe what some people are writing and for me this is one of them.

I'm absolutely gobsmacked and pretty much lost for words.

There are many on here that criticise Gibbo for whatever reason, wrongly or rightly, but for me, it's just one of many reasons
why I hold him in such high regard.
It proves to me that Mr Gibson not only loves our club with the passion that Leo has for our club but he also has a passion for compassion
unlike yourself Mwelolo.

You should hang your head in shame.

I see Mwelolo hasn't come back on here to explain his attitude. Maybe someone spiked his drink last night when he made those comments?

Shame really as I was going to tell him how proud I am of my football club for keeping hold of the man during his desperate and harrowing time and how proud that I am
being brought up in an era whereby my parents and grandparents taught me such things as to lend a hand to those in need and that it is better to give than to receive as well
as many more words of wisdom.

It was my father in law though that spoke the wisest words to me and words that have stayed with me since the day I told him that I wasn't going to buy a house for his
daughter and that we had decided to spend our deposit on travelling the world.
His reply was simple, but so meaningful.
" Well son, when you get old like me, you look back through your life and you find that you never regret the things that you did but you always regret the things that you didn't do."
" you give my daughter the trip of a lifetime and give her the thing that I never got to do"

I have now far exceeded the age of my father in law when he uttered those words but just for you Mwelolo, I'm going to change them slightly and add some words of my own and
hope that one day you will take them onboard.

When you get old like me, you look back through your life and you find that you never regret the things that you did but you will always regret some of the things that you said.

Didn't liverpools bootroom have coaches that lasted for decades across different managers? Never hurt them to have that continuity.

Anyway, in the multi-lingual world game of today, having a spanish speaking coach, is vital and someone with a relationship with the club not the new manager. He can help provide info and context to Wilder to get him up to speed, on the squad. He can translate for Payero, and be another coach which is important while Wilder builds up his backroom staff.

I haven’t come back because I’m bored by this now.

I have stated several times that I don’t buy into this sentimental carry on with Percovich.

That’s my opinion, others are entitled to their’s.

End of……

"I don’t buy into this sentimental carry on with Percovich." He lost 2 members of his family - his children. So his football family at Boro tried to look after him and give him a new focus through what must be an unimaginable time. This isn't like Warnock having a last hurrah in management, this is someone who has been at Boro since the Karanka days, wears his heart on his sleeve and as BoroMart said, has experience at Rockcliffe, could be helpful to settle any S American players/act as a translator. I've said on another thread I don't believe in sentiment in football but this is totally different.

Mwelolo - can you not see he's well liked by the Boro faithfull and people at the club?

Man City certainly have a loyal family of back room team who have stayed throughout the various changes in management. They play a massive part in the morale of the team and the camaraderie welcoming new players and integrating them into the set up. Leo plays a vital role and I am delighted he is around.

I don't know exactly what Leo does, but I get the feeling he's useful to have around and does now provide some consistency.

Who do Man City have still there?

Yep, fair enough.
I hold no ill will towards you and wish none upon you.

I'm sure that we're all aware that life can change in an instant, like it did for Leo.
Fortunately the people that have none or little compassion for others are in the minority.

I'm proud of my club for what they have done in regards to Leo and proud to be a member of this forum where people that don't even know one another, line up in droves
to offer words of advice, encouragement and support to those in need on a regular basis.
Thankfully, they are the majority and we should all be proud of that.

So what will you move onto next then?
