According to Merseyside police observers the vast majority of fans behaved in an exemplary fashion
TBH roofie everyone is presuming what went wrong ATM. No doubt things will become clearer. What a disgusting, uninformed, presumptuous and condescending pile of nonsense.
Know lads who travel to loads of Boro away games but rarely go to match. God knows why.I can’t be a proper football fan. I literally have no idea why anyone ticketless would spend good money on just travelling, let alone travelling and trying to get access illegally. Trouble and angst just seems to follow Liverpool fans around.
Loads of Boro fans went to Eindhoven without tickets. What's your point exactly?Pre match, media outlets were saying how good it is 50 / 60,000 'reds' were descending on Paris for the match, even Klippety asked them to go even without tickets !!
As allocation was less than 20K, do you think 30/40,000 inebriated bindippers would just stay away ? Not a chance.
Official trips, buses etc should have only transported those with tickets. (Twitter has been full of lads going by car, buses etc without tickets)
How exactly is my point any of these? What a disgusting, uninformed, presumptuous and condescending pile of nonsense.
Im "defending" nobody. How exactly is my point any of these?
There is plenty of evidence of Liverpool fans getting into the ground under false pretences. You're defending the indefensible.
Those with genuine tickets who got caught in the melee should be asking questions of their fellow 'supporters' as this no doubt a major contributing factor into the heavy handedness of the French police.

EDIT: Bitmore info on thread than when I replied to your Page 1 post.
The authorities - UEFA and the French including the coppers - would have been planning this since Paris was named CL final 2022. As English teams have regularly reached the final, it would have been common sense to at least have a contingency plan in place for 40-50-60 thousand ticketless fans descending on Paris. English fans have done this regularly since the 70s. So too many fans, not enough tickets = dodgy tickets to be produced en-masse. So how to stop this. It can't be stopped. But how to manage this? Surely a two ring security cordon was blindingly obvious. First one, all the dodgy tickets were stopped. Next one fans get into the stadium. . An alternative more cynical view would be the French expected the Liverpool fans to kick off so the Police have a field day with their battons, CS and pepper spray.......however the vast majority of the Liverpool fans being impeccably behaved and the arrival of local youths kicking off kind of put a damper on things. Although there was a knobhead element of the Liverpool support, the organisation must be the main instigator in what happened.Having seen plenty of information from various sources it definitely seems bad organisation and stewarding was the main factor. It wouldn't surprise me if the French authorities were spooked pre-game about thousands of fans "jibbing" their way into the game. That probably resulted in attempting to essentially herd thousands into a small area.
Err the game was transferred to Paris as was due to be played in Russia…The authorities - UEFA and the French including the coppers - would have been planning this since Paris was named CL final 2022. It's clear that ordinary, genuine fans have been treated deplorably and they've done nothing wrong. Worst of all kids have been clearly very shaken by their awful experiences.
However in a search for answers we just love to blame the 'faceless authorities'. When the 'faceless authorities' are Johnny foreigner so much the better.
How about we throw some personal responsibility into the mix for once. Responsibility to do as asked, to follow the rules, not to turn up at the ground ticketless, not to purchase tickets other than through proper channels. It's not that difficult but boorish, selfish, boastful t**ts who think they're "not doing any 'arm mate" once again spoil it for others. How about we call those b***ds out this time.
Edit: Change the bloody thread title. The thread is valid, the title is not.
3 months was still enough time to plan.Err the game was transferred to Paris as was due to be played in Russia…
I know. Assumption being that Paris would be used to holding big events - football, rugby, TDF - so would be able to cope with the masses of people and would already have a plan in place. 50-60k ticketless fans turning up should not have been a surprise so should have been planned for. Didn't look as though any proactive planning was thought out - purely left to a reactive plan by the coppers.Err the game was transferred to Paris as was due to be played in Russia…
