Latte Lath done deal

aint no way we're getting 13m upfront for akpom.. for ffp it's probably like 4m per year for 3 years
How much up front is completely irrelevant from ffp. All of the Akpom sale value (minus add ons) will be added to this years ffp. That’s how it works, it’s separate from terms of payment.

So our ffp has perspective is immediately up 11m - the remaining 650k for the final payment from when we purchased (signing players is amortised across the length of the contract)

Yes but anyone we buy would be structured the same way so it doesn’t matter.
Payment structure and ffp are seperate.

If we signed Archer for 20m on a 5 year contract, then we would amortise and add 4m (and 1 year wages) to this seasons ffp calculation.

Ffp is calculated over your last 3 seasons, so archers second season with us would have another 4m (8 in total plus wages).

We could probably stay compliant with that.

By the third year if we are not promoted we would have 3x 4m (plus wages) on our ffp calculation and would likely fail ffp without significant sales to balance the calculation.

We could go all in on him, but it would be a growing risk, and if he got injured and we didn’t get promoted it could put the club at serious risk

£5.6m (if that’s the fee) on a totally unproven striker who has averaged about one goal in four seems like the definition of madness to me. Hope I’m wrong but i would think Atalanta are currently doing cartwheels if they’ve managed to get that much for someone who’s hardly kicked a ball for the first team. He may turn out to be great or he may turn out to be a duck egg but this seems a very strange choice to be charged with being our main goal scoring outlet. The championship is a tough old league, he’s going to have to hit the ground running is this lad - can’t see it personally

Brighton and Brentford spending 5 million on the likes of macaliister as a bit of a punt is the same as us spending 500k on silvera, this is the equivalent to a 50 million pound signing for them, it’s a massive chunk of the budget
That's right, but they made their punts to be able to afford that money by doing it in the Championship and building up

So the deal isn’t “done” as yet?

You don’t get points for being first to post a done deal, just look a bit stupid when the deal isn’t actually “done”.

You don’t get got points for being first to post done deal when it actually is done either, you usually get ‘yeah everyone knew mate’.

Why is everyone inflating fees when we buy and deflating when we sell.

Every time I read, latte laths fee seems to have gone up another 500k.

It’s £4.3m isn’t it as a basic fee. That’s still quite high, but we trust that the team have done their homework.

So true. It happens with every deal. Even though multiple people said that Payero was not £5 million, that amount is quoted by everyone on here. And I suspect that this deal is nowhere near £4.3 million.

This is correct as I have explained many times on the board.
The Sale fee less Current Book Value is shown as Profit from Sale of Player Registrations and included in Total Income on the P&L.
Add ons will not be.

When the fee is actually paid by Lens has no relevance to the P&L and therefore FFP.

Who else can we get? If we want any striker with a decent record in a competitive league then it costs a lot. Only way we would get any cheaper would be trying a lower league signing which is just as much of a risk
