This is the point isn't it. They aren't, but the west's leaders treat them as if they are better.

However people aren't stupid and try to redress the balance by showing support for the innocent Palestinians (not Hamas) whom the west's powers that be tend to generally be content with ignoring beyond some vague, timid tutting at Israel being "a bit heavy handed".

The Israeli government and Hamas are both evil. The people they supposedly represent, in the main, are not.

I don't understand why we can't have a march for peace instead, rather than marches in favour of either side to be honest. Surely it's just going to further the division?

It was truly heartbreaking seeing videos and images on Twitter of young children, victims of recent Israeli bombs.

Equally, as somebody above has already mentioned, when are the Israeli hostages going to be released?

People hold banners saying ‘Free Palestine’ on these demos. To some it will mean a two state solution, to others it will mean the destruction of Israel.
