Planned riot in Middlesborough last weekend.

Town is fairly empty - even for Boro - loads of people working from home today.. just a few usual types getting on the beer too early..

Hopefully lashes down..
This just gives more credence to the idea of classing this as terrorism.

If people fear going about their daily business, if the economy is impacted, if the security services are being attacked and resources stretched.......if it quacks, it's a duck as they say. The government will have no option but to declare it trerrorism.

Anyone who thinks they're just going to a peaceful protest, needs to think twice, three times before stepping foot out the door. You are risking ruining your own families life. When they get arrested there will be severe sentences. When they post misinformation and hate, there will be sentences, when they organise on line to meet up, they will go to prison. A lot of people will make some stupid decision that will be life changing in the next few days. Anyone around here quietly lurking and thinking about joining in, or have family, kids wanting to go, stop, think, is this worth it......I mean are you really prepared to go to prison as a terrorist?

We need the good folk to unite and show these scumbags that they are very much in the minority

The big talk on terrorism charges needs to sit against the current reality that as far as I have noticed on the news they haven’t even gone so far as to charge anyone with riot yet. Presumably out of the fear that the additional elements of that offence might be a bit harder to get to stick, which would apply in spades to terrorism. A decent wedge of quick 3s to 5s for violent disorder will have far more effect then a few token terrorist charges getting bogged down in the system and possibly leading to acquittal.

Yep. I'm pleased these have started to roll. The initial batch of a couple of months doesn't really cut the mustard IMO. 3 years is a deterrent for all but the thickest.

Keep the dopey "peaceful protest" mob (who got played like a penny whistle on Sunday) away and I'm sure that plod can deal with what remains.

As soon as you mention - criminal record - you'll be struggling to get an interview, esp in some sectors..

Not worth it for a Russian inspired & incorrect news story that the social media effluencers pushed to get the gullible forming up to take the fall for them..

The terrorist charges will be for those pushing the 'marches' they are riots, vandalism & not even thinly veiled..

I note that Farage is back tracking his - backing - of the protests, due to being - naively duped by SM's with big followers.. hope he can get his parliament privileges revoked..

He's only peddling back to a degree, he is still quite happy to bang on about the BLM movement and the Harehills disturbance whilst peddling the nonsense of two-tier justice. Also whilst moaning that he has had to up his security arrangements. He is proper dangerous, threat to civil order. I'd rejoice if someone got rid of him and his horribly screwed version of politics.

Need the people of Clacton to grow up and create a recall petition. Needs 10% to trigger a byelection.
A recall petition can only be triggered if he is suspended from Parliament for 10 days or more.

It also wouldn't be great because it plays to Farage's narrative that he is standing up for the common people.

Finally he would win a by election.

You are probably right but you never know. See what happened in France when there was a real chance of far right winning people pulled together. There would need to be one unity candidate supported by all the others.

Everything that has happened in the UK in the last few years, happened in the USA a year or two previously. Same people using the same techniques to undermine democracy.
Exactly they tried to undermine everyone and everything online to get a reform win. Same social media overload. But it didn’t work, partly because of the way our system works. So they went to plan b, similar to trumps plan b of storm the capitol. They’re trying to break democracy

No, I'm not going to walk up to a random person and just say your religion is nonsense mate. But, it is my opinion that it is nonsense. Just as I will say that many other personal beliefs like flat earthism is nonsense. We all have opinions and in the right context, I'll vocalise mine. This is a message board where we discuss all kinds of stuff, if it offends anyone, I'm sorry that offends them, but it doesn't change my stance of bewilderment.

If you analyse my words I switched from my world view of "sky fairies" to their world view of "god" mid sentance, and that was for a reason.
I dunno, if feels calling the sky fairies is deliberately going out your way to undermine someone belief system.

It’s still on a curriculum to be taught in schools

Big difference to flat earth, as that directly contradicts what we are taught in school through science
