Even Gary Neville can see it's cheap and he hasn't seen anything other than tonight. We are soft as sh**

He was on his own tonight and scored a beautiful goal and nearly another. He will grow to be hugely important for us.

He has a football brain that a lot of other don't and his feet are fantastic. He's on a long contract.

Get him gone why? Because you don't want a bit of tension. Bull.


Keep your most valuable players on a long deal unless the bid is ridiculous. He is easily a plus 20m pound player if he continues to develop like this. His ceiling is grater than that.
 
Was actually disappointed he scored because I thought he was one of the few bright sparks tonight and it's only going to increase the chances we lose another player.

I suppose it could strengthen our hand on a fee, but I'd sooner keep him and develop him.
 
To be glass is half full it might make it more likely he doesn't go:

- how much can Villa afford due to FFP? How much are they willing to spend. The reported opening bid suggests not that much.

- it strengthens our hand and increases his value. Potentially beyond Villa's reach right now.

- puts him on the radar of more clubs. No rush to sell if you're confident of interest further down the line.

- Neville's comment won't have gone unnoticed either. Cheers Gary.

I'd say the price has just gone up.

You want him now before other clubs realise his potential and we have no time for a replacement? That'll be £20m thanks 😉

Neville actually said how much, you don't normally hear of transfers that low these days, not thinking we signed him in the summer for 1.5 to 2m, no one really knows the ins and outs but suspect the club will sell for 10m plus, neville wasn't indicating it was low for Rogers it was more of a generic statement to that figure, gus Hammer went for 8 in the summer I think for a very good champo player, we have to have perspective on Rogers in the sense that the club needs money to strengthen so the sale may suit us but not us fans.

I must admit after tonight I’m inclined to say £10m is too little. Not because he’s worth that much just now, but because the combination of unavailability of Greenwood, Latte Lathe, Silvera, Mcgree, Jones, crooks, Coburn, Hackney, Forss etc… at one point or another mean he’s about the only attacker we’ve got.

My initial thoughts were sell but I’d like to see us keep him unless it’s an unbelievable bid.
 
Still can’t see where these 20m+ valuations of rogers are coming from, I know they are different positions, but is he more value than gyokeres was last season ??

To me personally he’s a bog standard Boro player with some potential, but some figures being talked about tonight I find rediculous

Gus Hamer went for £15 million, and he was in his last year of his contract I think?
 
More than only Villa will be interested, he has quality , and could suit a lot of premier teams , like Brentford, Wolves , Palace, Nufc , Everton , the list goes on . £12m is peanuts to them , he showed his quality with the goal .
