Do you think Vaccine passports should be needed to get into pubs?

Which is why I mentioned the wider context. It's ok to have a 2 tier society for pubs, but not for meeting with friends and family? Where else would it be OK for a 2 tier system, churches, the office, where else Artie?
Exactly this - there can be no return to normal if youā€™re excluding a significant swathe of society on the basis they might have the lurgy, baring in mind the vaccinated may also have the lurgy but are deemed ā€œokā€ to go anywhere they please because they have a ā€œpassportā€

They have no answers they're just pricks Randy who retreat into 'if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear' rubbish.

They are the people our great grandfather's would despise.
As the evidence is from that 'reputable' rag the daily mail I won't respond to that slur. By the way didn't our great grandfather's and grandfather's have identity cards during the war? (if that's what you are referring to?!)

Ah so you want a non UK media source?

Reduction of cases seems to coincide with a change in recording of cases, likely the reason for the significant reduction. Be interesting to see what happens over the next few months but it seems far too early to take away all restrictions without the majority having been vaccinated.

The change in the recording of cases removing the lag like we have in this country.

By the way, despite the legislation changing for Texas not every business is following the legislation. Was chatting to my mate over there today, he'd been to a BBQ place at the weekend and a lot was roped off, still ok to sit outside and they have the weather for it.

Two weeks until our pubs can serve again, I've heard Stockton council have given the nod for tables to be set up on footpaths outside of pubs, not sure how true that is.

I've noticed the Station Hotel have fenced off a large section outside of the pub and the Catholic Club are talking of changing opening hours so that they don't cause a nuisance.

May 17th it's all open again, looking forward to it. Some businesses are being proactive with regards to their clientele's needs, other won't bother but they'll make lots of noise when people give them a miss.

No it's not compulsory to have the vaccine so you can't make it compulsory to access pubs, cinemas, clubs.
Not anti vaccine had mine and waiting for second jab.
Lots of pubs don't have staff to implement this. Pub I use has one bar person on most times. How are they going to police that.
Once again the Government are not being clear with their guidance.
No, it's a ridiculous idea as far as I'm concerned. Setting aside the obvious issues around policing such a measure, how is it fair to deny 20 somethings and 30 somethings access to a pub when they don't have access to the vaccine? And how is it fair to business owners to deny them, in many cases, their most prolific customers?

I never cease to be amazed at the lack of foresight of the people that run the country. If the powers that be made this a law, the riots in Bristol would pretty soon be replicated in every corner of the country on a daily basis. It's madness.
Haven't the Government already said that they wouldn't introduce covid passports for some of the reasons outlined when restrictions are lifted. But I think they also said they would let businesses decide on there own criteria. The last two pubs I went into before lockdown had different control measures in place. We all got what we wanted. A mix of ages too. Now remember when there was legislation to stop smoking in public places, buildings etc. The outcry was soon replaced by an acceptance 'when the penny finally dropped'!

Track and trace in hospitality is been brought back again even though it was hardly ever used by the authorities. So sounds like no passport to me.

Am not surprised, seems sensible to me
This was covered in a you gov poll. It depends how the question is asked. If you ask are vaccination passports for venue entry a good idea. Support is high. If you ask should vaccinated people have the same restrictions as non vaccinated people, support drops of to 8%.

Definitely feels like one of those policies which sounds sensible in soundbites but once rolled out is almost universally despised and largely unworkable.

We know this government likes to test the water before submerging completely but I think this may even be a step too far for them (the roll out, not the tactical placement of the idea in the media).

Also covered in question framing:-

'Do you think Vaccine passports should be needed for people to access 'xyz' IF it allows lockdowns to end?'

Vs

'Would you like to use a vaccine passport to enter 'xyz'?'

But it's ok it sound sensible to the lad a couple posts up.

Eight thousand people took part in that survey.

18,939 took part in the one above.
Need to remember twitter is mainly used by younger people though and is essentially an echo chamber on certain topics. 1 million could respond to that poll and its not representative

Any survey to see public opinion needs to use a sample from all aspects of society, not just those that post on twitter
